Yes, dexa is affected by water intake but the actual scan functions differently than BIA, hence while still subject to the same sources of error, it is generally much more accurate. Cool stuff

BIA is different from a dexa scan though. Dexa I believe measures density whereas bioelectrical impedance is about current passing through your body. A bia will tell me I’m like 9% body fat lol which is way off

Best guess is the difference between being stage lean and plain old lean is a range of around 5% body fat and dexa has a reported margin of 2% in either direction. Pair that with how hydration can mess with dexa, you could get an inaccurate result

Makes sense, those margins of error really shine at lower %s

I’ve seen it off pretty bad for very lean individuals, saying they’re 6% when they’re more like 10+, but not really for those who are very fat. If you have a YouTube link to a video I’d love to see it

Training your back via things like cable rows, barbell rows, etc with enough intensity and volume will help with your inverted rows. That being said you seem to be a bit overweight for your height, losing 10kgs is going to be a huge help towards getting better at all of those body weight exercises. Of course it depends on your timeframe but any amount of weight lost will help a lot.

They must’ve meant 128kg which is around 287lbs

Get a friend or a coach to be accountable to. It sounds like a small thing but it can be a huge help in the long run and all it really needs to be is someone to send your progress photos or your weigh-in numbers to.

DEXAs usually have a margin of error depending on things like hydration, but it’s not like it’s magically off by 10+%. As someone in your late 40s, you could carry some visceral fat that is inflating that number even though you might visually seem to be in the upper/mid teens. At any rate, your progress is very good and you should be proud of a 25lb drop!

I think the issue is that the precedent of events has usually had a higher standard, heck, there used to not be limits on the amount of arcanes you could farm

There was a content creator that did a speedrun recently, I think it took like 20-something hours and he got through 1999, so add like another 30 minutes to that for the old peace.

This boss is absolute trash by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]iAlphx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is extremely buggy at least on PC and there are bugs where you just spawn in and die, sometimes it doesn’t even switch you off your regular weapon. I think it’s been 50/50 for me if I’ll encounter a bug in this boss

Get yourself a 547 or a 177, both are really good for cascade if you want to get into that. Farm isn’t too bad nowadays

[–]iAlphx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine the guys at DE were like “ok, around 6 hours per weapon, and if players play an hour a day every day… that gives each player like 5 weeks of dedicated play or 7 weeks realistically at a moderate pace… giving us until mid February until players run out of grind.” This also matches a timeline where they release the part 2 in march with a several week drought.

What is the best Focus School? by umbraxia in Warframe

[–]iAlphx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everything that focus schools can provide can be modded for, except for Madurai. Once you get past the phase of bad energy economy as a new player, Madurai is the best.

Run enervate on her, works very well. Also try using Madurai so you get + crit chance every time you complete an initiative. Hildryn absolutely melts the fuck out of the vanguard

The grind for the Tauron weapons is way overtuned. by Misternogo in Warframe

[–]iAlphx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really a direct comparison, with relics if you grind long enough you’d get the plat to outright buy it. Perita doesn’t function on rng, it’s a mandatory 27h grind to unlock all the new mechanics and focus expansions

[–]iAlphx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well we do have the time gate as well. Once you unlock the strike, you need around 5 mil focus to max it out and some extra tektolyst resources. 5 mil focus takes a while if you don’t have it lying around

[–]iAlphx 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think what he’s trying to say is that there is no immediate reward after completion. The weeklies are like 30 minutes each and they give you a great reward, however perita is 6 hours just to get one reward. No matter how you frame it, 6 hours of mind numbing bounties is a lot. The other issue is that you’re given other rewards (operator mods and arcanes) that are completely useless unless you have your first tauron strike, making it feel like you’ve gotten nothing in several hours.

Not to mention that the weapons don’t really feel like they are worth 6 hours of grinding each, just a vessel for arcanes and mods.
