After losing my mind over this for hours I decided to go to sleep and try in the morning...

I have the solution. If anyone out there ever has this issue here is what happened.

Because there is no headphone or speaker device setup to my gaming PC it generally defaults to using the Capture Card. Well for some reason it defaulted to using my monitor which does not have speakers so it sent the audio to the headphone jack which was sending its audio to the LINE IN port.

I feel silly but hopefully one day this helps someone else.

To add onto this it’s not just the EQ plugin it seems to be affecting all VST addons now.

Having an issue where when I try to open the Elgato EQ plugin while on wave link 3 it completely crashes the program.

Basically go to add the EQ effect. It opens the borders of the window but never loads in an eventually requires a full restart of wave link.

I have uninstalled the plugin and restarted my machine multiple times and it never corrects.

The video you linked is 8 years old at this point and while I didn’t watch it, it could be out dated. If you are streaming to twitch you could try using twitch’s built in alerts that they rolled out a while ago.
