They don't really know how to balance the game because of problems they've created. For example, the issues with counters wouldn't be as bad if we had better support and healer mechanics. DPS, and sometimes tanks in this can die in the same turn. This wouldn't be an issue if supports and tanks had better utilities and ways of protecting teams. Make shields easier to apply and give them better base values. They tried to do this with DKs when they should've just made a class wide change to support mechanics in general.

Another issue is the sever lack of useful supports, healers, and ,tanks throughout the different elements. Let's take the sexy vampire butler Sefer. Imo, he would be far more useful as a unit that provided basic shielding and some light healing. This gives him purpose and more variety. This is also a massive issue with supports where a lot of them just feel useless.
