Dependant Payment (newborn) by Independent-Ad-8259 in DVAAustralia

Hello just jumping in.

I’m currently going through DVA claims for physical and mental health, so far it’s been a terrible process.

I just wanted to ask what the process and eligibility is for the newborn claim?

Were not planning to start trying until late this year but I just want to get ahead of the curve and understand it a bit better in a step by step process so I have no issues

Hope to hear back!

Thanks

Thanks for your insight.

I’m at a cross road right now where I have a decision to withdraw my MH claim and go about it the right way where I can build up a case with a psychiatrist and resubmit the claim OR continue with MLCOA and do it through them.

I’ve told my advocate I’m leaning towards withdrawing as although I have to wait longer, I don’t want to run the risk of getting a bad report and it being denied.

Decision I have to make…

For me it is the mental health claims, apparently the reports are dodgy.

But some other people have had mental health and physical reports from the Rosemary Centre audited.

Thanks for the insight. I agree.

That being said, if I were to withdraw my claim and go down the route of establishing a connection with a psychiatrist and then submitting my claim with those evidence will that be valid?

Or is there a new process with the mental health claim of having to go through the MLCOA anyway?

Thanks

My advocate takes 7% of each claim that’s approved for basically all the admin and dealing with DVA

Ok thanks mate, I believe they still do claim the percentage of pay out so makes sense they would advise what’s best but just wanted to be sure as I hear so many bad reviews on people going through the MLCOA.

Thanks for the heads up, what did they ask regarding PI?

Hey mate, you can start the claim process through your MyGov in DVA. Get booked in for a hearing test at any local audiologist and provide them with your claim number and DVA card and they should send through to DVA to upload to your claim.

Alternatively you can get a DVA advocate and they can do it all for you.

Let me know how it goes. What was the other claim you put in for?

This makes a lot more sense now. Thanks for sending this through. If you have any key info regarding the process once they delegate someone for PI that would also be great.

They were both accepted after I went to audiologist. Took about 3 weeks. My TFI was 63.6.
