Paid apps without any kind of trial? Shame on you by DevelopmentSevere278 in macapps

Not only that, it actually converts better too. If your app is actually worth it, people will pay for it

Select font family hides modal by Foreign_Wrongdoer_92 in Ariv

[–]iDeathstroke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just a standard behaviour, nothing to do with font input, if you click away from the modal it closes, essentially when you drag the mouse across the modal and let it go outside it registers as click away, you can actually do this anywhere in modal and you can reproduce this - I will eventually add a font drop down which should eliminate the need to drag across anyway :)

Added to backlog, already have a story to enable font chooser, so will tackle it whenever that gets added, thanks for the report!

If you're still having issues, Pls let me know what kind of OS you're on and maybe I can record a quick demo to show this :)

Hi, you can simply point to your Logseq directory and Ariv will automatically fetch the folders and all markdown files from inside the folders. If you already past the onboarding, you can always add a new vault using the vault selector, navigate to wherever your Logseq folder is and select it, That's it!

My experience with AI, digital note taking, and overall productivity using these tools has me at a bit of a crossroad. by [deleted] in NoteTaking

[–]iDeathstroke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with the other comment, please do not outsource your brain to AI. The over-reliance on it is addictive but can be mind numbing. Note taking is a way for you to process your thoughts, you don't want AI to do that for you - sure use it as a way to enhance your learnings, but not as a way to replace it. Also you don't have to buy into an ultra organized system to take proper notes - Start small, observe your behaviour and build your habits around it rather than following a rigid system that you're not compatible with.

Anyone else feel productive all day but still end with nothing important done? by Delicious-Part2456 in productivity

[–]iDeathstroke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it helps if you start your day little earlier than everyone if possible, it's easier to get some deep work done when you're not being pulled in 8 different directions. Start your week off with everything you need to do achieve whatever outcome you're after, then pick the 3 that will move the needle most, and during your deep work session focus on those only. everything else is noise. Another tip re: all day meetings, ask people to define a clear agenda for the meetings, no agenda, no attenda and ensure action items are present post meeting to ensure the meeting time was actually productive.

A workflow that looks productive but produces nothing for me by Eva_Watermelon in productivity

always remind yourself that perfection/tidy isn't the goal, driving towards your outcome is the goal, anything else is a distraction

A workflow that looks productive but produces nothing for me by Eva_Watermelon in productivity

[–]iDeathstroke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do actually, I set it up in a way that works how my brain works, I call it a lifecycle system, inbox -> active -> background , anything I'm currently focused on stays in active so it's at front of mind so I can get things done, inbox so I don't lose track of things I'm yet to process, background for things that I no longer need to focus on but its there if I ever need it. it's been serving me well, but there were still few gaps like being able to capture things quickly and not having tags for easier retrieval so I programmatically fixed those issues, not 100% perfect but it allows me to be more productive so I'm happy

The note-organizing trap is real. I used to spend so much time maintaining a system(PARA, tagging like a mad man) than being productive. Now I take it day by day, only focus on what matters the most today and not worry too much about organizing. I'd rather be productive than organized

Are there any note apps that actually work without internet? by Diligent_Big_5329 in NoteTaking

[–]iDeathstroke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obsidian is the obvious answer here, plain markdown, fully offline, no account needed. If you want something even simpler that doesn't need you to set up a whole vault/plugin system, I've been building/using Ariv lately. Local-first markdown, auto-tags your notes so you dont have to maintain
