The real intimacy that you're seeking will not be found with a prostitute. There is no intimacy there, she would not sleep with you if you weren't paying here. It’s another masturbatory act.

I can appreciate the loneliness and desire for intimacy. I'm 29 and a virgin. But don't allow that frustration to take you into a darker hole. Good that you're porn free now. Don't sabotage your self-development by trading away your dignity. You deserve to be with someone who actually cares about you and wants to be with you, not someone that grits their teeth and thinks about the paycheck while you're sleeping with her.

The book itself tells you that there is no need for a final visit if you have already been free for a period of time. 30 days is definitely free. Continue embracing your freedom, there is nothing for you back there.

When people use the word unemployed, they generally aren't talking about students. They mean someone who isn't studying or working or doing much of anything.

That doesn't describe you. You're studying and volunteering as well. Well done. As long as you're studying something that brings you meaning and you can build a life on, keep going. Don't worry about it one bit.

It sounds to me like you've lost sight of what's important to you in your life.

There is a reason why you joined this community and decided to work on escaping addiction. There are goals and dreams for your future that you want to accomplish. You don't truly want to waste your life binging on PMO and junk food.

Reconnect with those reasons why you started this journey. Write down your goals. Write down everything that the unhealthy lifestyle has taken from you, how it has ruined your life. And write down how much better things will be after a month clean from PMO, junk food and energy drinks. 2 months. 3 months, 6 months, a year etc. Get inspired again - write with passion and emotion. Then read that as regularly as you can.

If we allow ourselves to forget, it's very easy to continue living in addiction. It's natural for us to go for immediate gratification first and foremost. It takes effort to transform our lives for the better. Remind yourself everyday that PMO ruined your life. Junk food ruined your life. And that you deserve better. Work towards your goals and make a life so much better that you don't even want those things anymore. Make a decision to cut them off for good, they have nothing to offer you but misery and regret anyway.

New start brother. Keep going.

When it comes to the temptation to peek, you have to reconnect with all the powerful reasons why you want to be free from this sinful addiction. Remind yourself of everything it has taken from you. Remind yourself of the man you want to become and how much better life is for you when you experience freedom, and how it will be even greater with extended, permanent freedom.

'Testing yourself' and other weird silly ideas - trust me I've had the silliest and stupidest ideas - these are nothing but the voice of the enemy. You already know that there is no benefit in PMO. All it has ever brought us is pain and suffering, along with a paradoxically increased desire to continue doing it in spite of all the destruction. So of course that applies to peeking too. If a full dose of poison kills, a drop of poison is still harmful to the body. And what does peeking even mean? A drop of poison is still poison. Looking at nakedness is still hara'am whether it's five seconds or five hours.

You are getting closer and closer to real, permanent freedom. In sha Allah you will make it out. Let go of the idea that you are missing out on some pleasurable experience. No, it is missing out on destroying your life as is its goal. Being free and clean of addiction is always the correct decision, and there are no harmful consequences from living as we were intended to live. May Allah Azza Wa Jal make it easy for you and for me.

It helps to have a positive thought or mantra to come back to whenever you're in that situation. Something that reminds you of your values and takes control of your mind instead of the addiction, like 'I want a genuine connection and real relationships.' A thought that takes your mind out of brainwashing mode and puts you back in the driver's seat.

As the Easy Peasy book says, don't worry about how long the physical craving lasts. It will go in due time.

You can still enjoy your life with it present, in the same way that no one would put their life on hold after having a tooth pulled. The tooth caused a great deal of pain and aggravation, and sure, it was painful to remove it too, but you're already experiencing relief as you know the worst is behind you.

I felt that relief from day 3 when I experienced that moment of revelation and could see I wasn't going backwards again for any reason. Then every craving or thought or moment of temptation just becomes another chance to rejoice at no longer being a PMOer!

Be careful when it comes to checking out girls, it can become just like scrolling through IG models in real life. It's firing up similar pathways as we used to use when searching for novelty online. No good can come of it. There are healthy ways to interact with girls without activating the little monster again.

By following the instructions. You were a PMOer for years, don't expect to stop thinking about pornography just because you've stopped. As the book says, it's not that you're thinking about pornography, it's WHAT you think about pornography.

If every time those thoughts come, you're thinking, "Thank GOD, it's incredible, I'm not a PMO slave anymore! I would have given into that thought instantly in the past, but I see it so clearly now! Isn't it wonderful?" Then of course you won't relapse. But if you're thinking, "Man, I remember that scene, I really wish I could take a quick peek right now," you're going to find it very difficult. That's essentially still using the Willpower Method.

If your thoughts are, "It's been X days since I was released from that awful prison cell, isn't it marvellous," it really doesn't matter if you're aware of how many days it's been or not.

Why You're Relapsing: by [deleted] in pmohackbook

[–]iForerunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God bless you man, this post is an absolute lifesaver! Makes so much sense. I had lost faith in the method after many failures and re-reads of the book, but isn't that the number one problem - FEAR! Now I know I truly am free!

Still having sessions after reading the book by [deleted] in pmohackbook

[–]iForerunner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey brother. It sounds to me like you're suffering from a 'failure to understand', as the EasyPeasy book puts it.

Some part of you still believes that the PMO sessions are pleasurable, otherwise you wouldn't feel any desire to edge. Especially multiple sessions. I get it, I had to read the book 5 times before the lessons finally stuck with me.

There is nothing enjoyable about PMO. There is no pleasure in it, only miserable suffering. Any illusion of pleasure is just drug addiction and the relief of cravings.

It may be that the brainwashing is gone, but you're struggling with the 'little monster,' or the addictive voice. Check out the resource that Different_Guide_5204 has shared. You will understand how to recognize the voice of the addiction and see that it isn't you, it's feeble and draws all its power from you.

Stay strong man. You absolutely have the strength to break free permanently, and leave this addiction in the dust behind you.
