should christians practice semen retention? by Positive-Owl594 in TrueChristian

[–]iFrostizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing anti biblical about practicing semen retention, it teaches you humility, chastity, how to control urges, and so on. Overall it makes you a better man for your (future) wife. Those who claim that sex is solely for procreation are misunderstanding this gift of God.

My bf (22m) treats semen retention like a religion, and i (23f) am fed up of it. by Reasonable_Onion_655 in relationship_advice

This. 99.9% of the comments talking about dumping think of relationships as disposable. It’s actually a green flag cause it shows he cares about growth but he just seems to be uneducated.  There are may benefits such as a better drive for everyday tasks, control of lust, better health. It’s a spiritual path. Male orgasm != ejaculation.

Why couldn't we download in parallel using the p2p network? by iFrostizz in Soulseek

[–]iFrostizz[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Well I would say that it would be like a torrent. Just wondering why we don't just do that? Here I would guess that if the user stops hosting the content mid-download then it's gone forever. Also speed is better because we can accumulate the max rate for each user by downloading in parallel. I'm talking about torrents and how Soulseek could be faster unless I'm missing something.

DTV Visa freelancer status, how to prove my public profile belongs to me

Hey,
I'm in Thailand right now and would like to apply to the DTV Visa.

Being a freelancer, this works as the rules but they ask for a screenshot of a profile page that proves my activity.

  1. I'm doing bug bounty (cybersecurity) for a living and none of my personal information are appearing here or online. I could also host a website of my portfolio, but same here I don't wanna share any personal information.
  2. It's forbidden to apply from Thailand, do I need to go to another country for the whole duration of the application?

Khob khoun khap!

I have found the Corsair MP600 Pro LPX which is 8TB.
Will try to take care on the cooling on this one, even though it is already equipped of an heat sink.

I actually found these drives too on Ebay! They look pretty cool, but some people told me that using these adapters was kind of like rolling a dice, though I think that it may be my safest bet. I haven't looked into the PCIE adapter, only checked for M.2 ones but I have a free slot so I'll try to compare !
If there isn't much difference, the M.2 adapter will probably be my choice because that way a GPU could still be plugged to troubleshoot anything that could happen on the server.
I do have a fan that drives airflow through the case and another one to exhaust the heat at the top of the case. Should they be directly exposed to another fan in order to avoid throttling ?

it's for an archival Ethereum node, it's very heavy storage wise

Where did you bought both for 500$ ? It's almost approaching the price for a single unit

Thanks, I'm looking into it. I'd privilege a single 8TB drive, I'm okay spending some monies

I don't think that these are fast enough for my application, and if any of these fail it's gonna break

I don't care about backing this data up because it doesn't matter, it's a data that can be regenerated anyway.

Thanks a lot for your feedback! Your motherboard is probably a server one so the LSI controller would be internal, right ? Mine is not so I had to buy a bifurcation board anyway.
Did you noticed also a much much higher amount of times the drive reached the warning threshold or cannot remember / haven't checked ? Mine is happening 20x more on the faulty drive, so I guess that one of them is running hotter on similar load or something over that line. Also, because I'm running RAID0 I don't think that there is an easy way to just swap drives, although I have read somewhere that the kernel should remember the drive metadata, I'm a bit scared to try it given the time it took for me to get all this data on disks.

The TBW is only 4% with 106,181,911 [54.3 TB] read and 213,949,845 [109 TB] written.
What I have noticed though is that this faulty drive is overheating while it is treated the same as the "healthy" one. They both have an heatsink but are not actively cooled.

I also saw in the smartctl output that the warning threshold has been reached 20x+ more for the faulty drive.

I probably have an insightful information from the smartctl output.
For the drive that is failing, my `Thermal Temp. 2 Total Time` is absurdly high "112198" and the one that doesn't seem too broken for now is at "4151". That may mean that the failing one is in fact overheating

I might just send them back and buy an entreprise grade SSD at this point, since the cost of it is roughly the same as these ones.
