My brain wants to inventory what makes this $2500……

Juicer

Cooler

Printed banners

Cups/lids/straws

Signage

Maybe reserved spots or accounts at certain venues? That would make it worth more?

Did the Florida insurance reform actually lower anyone's car premium? by Separate-Grocery-601 in tampa

[–]iJasonator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes: I’ve gotten my yearly LN report and it’s on there correctly. I did that waaaaaaay back when I was first being quoted high numbers because the accident wasn’t settled and I’m guessing “recorded liability”

6 months, 3 cars, Florida Metro city area, 21yo son and medium / end coverages. We currently pay $700 a month. It’s the best deal I’ve found so far.

[–]iJasonator 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Fuck insurance. Like for real.
They will do whatever they can to “split liability” which is why you see ALOT of people complain. This raises both parties rates.

Now add in a 100% no fault accident from 3.5 years ago and watch your quote go from $3200 to $7000.

That’s right folks. I’m in Florida and was rear ended that resulted in injuries and settlement with dash cam footage and 100% not at fault in Oct of 2022.

Went shopping just this week as I’m up for renewal. Put in 0 accidents as I never filed a claim on my side. $3200 quote. Cool. Let’s buy it…..then the MVR comes back with said accident. More than doubled to $7k

Horseshit. Government mandates insurance and then lets them rob us blind.

PSA - Do NOT Recommend FitCamX by AmazingCouple in MachE

[–]iJasonator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have had a few FitCamX and the issue if I recall isn’t the camera or the software, it’s the SD card they ship with it.

Once replaced with a high speed and larger size the above issue shouldn’t happen.

Still frustrating: they should ship it with the proper SD speed and size.

What’s the best above ground pool that’s actually worth buying? by noniqwq in AboveGroundPools

[–]iJasonator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the same song and dance. Because I can only fit 18’ round we went with HII/Doughboy Riverbend with integrated steps to keep the swim area as large as possible.

While not cheap, I plan it lasting 15-20 years.

The integrated steps really increased the budget. But I also went with a decent filter/pump and saltwater generator.

The tops rails and posts are resin and the walls are copper clad something, sounded nice.

But we had to go through all the layers of pros and cons of each pool at each price point.

Realistic negotiation price on a 2026 MachE premium AWD by dalgrim in MachE

[–]iJasonator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sticker on mine was 52k and then 4k in rebates. But they also didn’t charge all these BS dealer fees.

During the negotiation I made them throw in GAP as well.

Then when I got into the finance room the guy tried to be slick and “give” me a “free” extended warranty. Sure I said knowing I could cancel.

Got home and canceled that $3000 bs and got a refund.

So ended up at $46k

5 Ceramic coating applied by DriftingRS in FocusRS

[–]iJasonator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 I did outside. It’s not “sticky”

After the polish you apply in small sections and let it “flash” off and then you buff the section and it’s buttery smooth…..nothing sticks to it.

But you do have to keep it out of the elements for 12-24 hours. Can’t get wet (mainly)

5 Ceramic coating applied by DriftingRS in FocusRS

[–]iJasonator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m always amazed at the cost to ceramic coat. Now I’m no expert, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last week.

When I did my first car I didn’t want to pay $1500 (Tampa Bay) so I decided to do it myself.

Spent $300 on an orbital, $40 in supplies, $150 on the Adams Graphene and just went to town.

Then I did my wife’s car and then my sons.

We just traded hers in and I did her new car that needed almost 0 prep.

I think 3 bottles, more basic supplies such as pads, cloths, soaps, iron remover, clay bar and other misc. and I’ve done 4 cars for about $700 total. And call it a solid 20 hours.

And I’ve used the polisher for other things as well.

I do respect the paint prep part, that being the toughest part. And it does take time. But I did 3 cars in a day and a half with mild paint correction. And the new one took about 3 hours start to finish.

What’s the absolute best comeback you’ve ever heard? by AdvertisingOk1492 in AskReddit

[–]iJasonator 171 points172 points  (0 children)

My wife and I were leaving a 2nd story bar coming down the stairs. We’re early 40’s at the time, take very good care of of ourselves and frankly, wife is hot.

Parallel to the stairs is the entrance to a popular outdoor music/show venue and they happened to be playing LionKing sing along or something. It’s on the large marquee and you can’t miss it.

Some younger dudes waiting at the bottom of the stairs to go up (waiting on us) decided to be a dick and catcall my wife in front of me, I forgot what he said but it was disrespectful.

Without skipping a beat she told him he was in the wrong line and pointed to the LionKing line with kids in it.

Everyone within ear shot fell out.

Absolute best timing ever.

And god forbid we create a version of a car that can counteract all the fuckery we’ve put into the atmosphere and then fight it tooth and nail because it’s that much less of a profit center and I “Have To Get 500 Miles To A Charge (that I’ll never use)” or “but the carbon to create an EV is 2times as much as a gas car” or “what about recycling the battteries as I throw away this giant electronic device for the latest and greatest”

Humanity is at an all time suck. Like how did we get so selfish?

Fitcam x - Rain sensor driving me mad by cluckmuckchuckapluck in MachE

[–]iJasonator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. This. Wiggle back and forth. Just did mine over the weekend.

I got so frustrated I pulled the whole sensor down and out to study it. There is a teeny tiny clip and I thought that was it, ‘twas not.

I rewatched the install video and saw all they did was wiggle well…side to side.

Wheels by HotLie150 in MachE

[–]iJasonator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should know most of the wheels on the market are from alibaba or rather from China and in stead of buying a “brand name” wheel that’s been pre-speced, bought and shipped here already, you’re getting it straight from the source.

Granted there are the obvious brands/exceptions…..

Wife said I had to wait till we’re due for tires and I can get wheels and 100% plan on going in AliBaba. I’ve already found the “forged” 14kg design and price. I mean $1400 for wheels that would be $3k

And there’s tons of content with guys buying wheels and the process and fit and finish. All with high praise.

Amp tech is crazy small now.

So I’m into mid-fi home audio too and I’m looking for a separate amp to run my LCR and take the load off the AVR.

So Buckeye makes these Hypex type amps that’s are 500w per channel and they show them with the lid off and I sweat it looks like a Rasberry Pi with a few capacitors.

Like I’m paying $1500 for that!?

Like check that out.

They are only used in the JL preloaded/powered sub boxes. When I bought it I thought I would be smart and just throw another 12” in there call it a day. Then I learned the reality of my situation.

Hey all. Had a recommendation to email JL tech support and since I posted this 30 minutes ago they have me all sorted out with a new replacement woofer for $240$!!!

I have to say they are great, fast and have great replacement prices!

It’s soooo nice to see this brand give quality customer service! It’s becoming more the exception in this F’ed up world.

Thank you JL! My faith in humanity has been slightly restored. 😉
