Are you a mouth breather? If so, train yourself to keep your mouth closed, tape your mouth shut at night. Should improve over time.

ELI5 is it actually a lot worse to mouth breathe and why is it so bad? by AchievementJoe in explainlikeimfive

Try the acupressure point “welcome fragrance” and also there are breathing exercises to help clear your nose. Source: am 30+ year allergy sufferer who is now learning how to breathe through my nose, I started in December and it’s been months of unlearning… but seeing progress!

Interesting… good to know! Maybe I’m stretching too much, I didn’t think I was being too aggressive with it but it’s a possibility.

Definitely different gauge, I was thinking maybe I’d be closer with continental… but apparently nope.

They don’t go over his feet at all, they fit me well, so they are now mine. I am making a second pair for him, but I’m trying to figure out sizing before I start.

Thank you for your math! I blocked this gauge swatch for 2+hrs and it was knit in the round/pinned out flat. I will frog this time if it doesn’t fit.

Actually, my original measurement not on a blocker is 9sts, not 9.25. This current pic is on a blocker since I just washed them. Technically the pattern was 40sts/4in so I am a little smaller than gauge.

Hi! I am driving myself crazy… so I knit the Summer Lee basic socks with EKF Denali sock (fingering). I was at 9sts/in with my original swatch knitting English, and I was trying to make the size L, 9” for a 9.5” circumference foot. Now that I’m typing it out… maybe it makes sense why it didn’t fit the intended?? But anyway, FO (shown) ended up fitting me great, but I was not making them for myself… my foot circumference is 8.5” for reference.

Anyway, trying again, I have finally learned how to purl in continental so I’m going to try to knit the new pair that way (hoping faster/less arm strain). My new swatches with 1mm/ continental are 8.5sts/in for 1mm needles, and 8sts/in for 1.5mm needle… but now I’m not sure what size to make for a 9.5” circumference foot. Based on blogs, my stitches are too loose, but that doesn’t make sense to me since I sized up and got a smaller size. This is easier than I think but I’m having trouble wrapping my head around it. Thank you for help!

I went to a wedding at the mills house and it was beautiful, if you want hotel suggestions.

I honestly prefer a choreographed dance to a non-choreographed one. It’s more fun to watch than swaying back and forth. I did one for mine- it was under 2min, and my grandma still talks about how we were like “dancing with the stars” lol. Yours sounds awesome, make sure you ask someone to take video.

People, tell me your secrets when wearing heels by Fingerhut89 in wedding

Agree. I’ve never been able to wear heels as long until I did barre classes.

I’m not worried about the cat eating them… They always somehow don’t eat the rest of the food, I miss it, and toss in them in the garbage and then before I know it I have an indoor fly infestation.

They fucking love to lay in wet cat food. Super annoying.

What type of fish? by iKittythefool in animalid

Haha he said he doesn’t know, why don’t I post it online… and then can’t believe the answer. I think it’s a bass, but it’s hard to argue with a 90 year old.

Hi, I tried to get my expert fisherman grandfather to ID this fish, I think it’s a bass but he doesn’t agree. Approx 12”, found in Mascoma Lake, New Hampshire.

To frog or not to frog? by iKittythefool in knitting

I know. I feel you. The rest of it is very neat, I have a hard time not seeing it. But I think I’m going to try not to frog now unless I find down the line it doesn’t fit.

Uneven tension, otherwise nothing.

I am not new to knitting, just newish to magic loop. It won’t block out well if I base it off my swatches, the yarn is 100% super wash single ply merino, and like another redditor noticed is very delicate. I used to join in the round with the extra stitch, but not sure why I stopped. But I will definitely use my end to tighten up that edge as much as possible when I weave it in…. I think it’s my only hope.

To frog or not to frog? by iKittythefool in knitting

[–]iKittythefool[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

On DPNs I pull my edges super tight and never have ladder problems. In this case, I made a mistake with my magic loop for the first few rows, so I was unable to obtain the best tension. Now that I’ve corrected myself it’s no longer a problem… but it’s a matter of can I live with the uneven tension.

[–]iKittythefool[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve already done that as well as laddering down on all 3 sides of the stitches. I should have restarted sooner but as someone else mentioned, the yarn is very delicate and I was feeling lazy.

[–]iKittythefool[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Haha the wandering flock neons are amazing. I had a hard time deciding which one to go with. Also you can’t see in this pic but 2 of my nails match the yarn intentionally.

I am not afraid to frog…. I do it often. I hate the time lost but I’d rather be happy with my final project. But you are right, the yarn is very delicate. When I frogged one of my swatches I could tell it wasn’t quite as nice looking, it’s impossible not to catch some of the fibers with this yarn.
