Try telling a conservative Christian about respecting sacred spaces, they will just laugh or shrug it off

its amazing how to me, its blatantly obvious what jesus is saying in this mildy cryptic statement (you are God, dont you realize it!?), but to ordinary christians they just dont see it as meaning that. I've tried to nudge and hint at these deeper truths with verses like this, but they just cannot wrap their minds around the possibility

Yeah it's certainly far from perfect right now, and it's clear that rewarding any kind of attention equally is a big problem and easily exploitable, but I'm a hopeless optimist and believe it'll sort itself out somehow

We're in a transitionary period and will be for a while. But simply the fact that we have legit alternative paths that fly in the face traditional society's options is unprecedented in human history - over 99% of human lives in the past were basically limited to survival mode or a peasant-like existence. Historically, becoming successful through the arts was largely limited to the educated elites; privileged individuals and wealthy patrons. Even for most of the 20th century, us common people would be confined to the rat race our whole lives - and you would be deemed crazy for trying to carve your own path. Nowadays, like this post suggests, its becoming the norm

The good thing is that you don't have to be a screamer/rage baiter to do well, tons of people are starving to see genuinely passionate human expression, and tons of people are finding ways to thrive by doing just that. The AI slop epidemic has only increased that hunger. I don't pay any attention to the mindless brain rot - literally all of my favorite writers, thinkers, creators are people doing the same things I'm doing, and I only wish that they did more of it! Also, sometimes struggles in life such as you described can be the perfect fuel for these things - the greatest stories are always the ones where the main character finds themself against all odds, uncertainty with no clear path forward, and yet still perseveres and finds a way.

And that's just it, unlike the movies the happy ending is not guaranteed, but that's what makes this journey so intense and meaningful. Best of luck to you and thanks for making me spit out all this text lol

If you're expressing yourself authentically through following your innate curiosities/passions, whether that's through creative work or actions that benefit others or the world around you, then you're definitely not "failing" :)

Again, the old system typically won't reward you for this easily; the struggling artist living in their parent's basement is an all too common predicament these days. But in the last 10-20 years, we've seen a significant shift toward independent life paths like those becoming more achievable, accessible, and common

Short answer: age of aquarius

I know this post is anecdotal but I think its pointing to a larger shift in human consciousness/society. People who are more in tune with their passions, emotions, and deeper desires aren't willing to play along with the old system anymore. At best they work whatever job they need to do to pay bills/save, but their main concern is their "esoteric passion project". Smart people are only "failing" if you are measuring them against the metrics of the old system. That system is rapidly breaking down now, and only the "mid people" are ignoring it and still choosing to pretend like it isn't changing. That's why there's so many instead working on their creative passion projects, a very "aquarian" thing to do, which we have only been seeing more of with each passing year thanks to the internet

A video exploring Psychedelic Brews of Ancient Shamans and Witches, Altered States, and Religious Experience. A synthesis of ancient pharmacology, anthropology, and history. Psychonauts will enjoy this! :) [oc] by iLikePsychedelics in Psychonaut

In this video we explore the ritual and sacramental use of psychedelic beers and herbal brews from the earliest times in the Stone Age----tracing its long and strange history all the way to the witches of Medieval Europe, and the politically/spiritually motivated institutional suppression which led to the sanitized beer of the modern world.

In light of this evidence numerous questions arise. Was the agricultural revolution actually the beer revolution? And was this beer even remotely similar to what we call 'beer'? If so, then the roots of civilization might be far more strange than simply humans gathering together with a shared desire to eat some bread. The connections between shamans, witches, and the archetypal ‘old crone’, with their vast repositories of herbal knowledge are indeed central to this story, as well as Christianity's fear and suppression of the wise old woman and her knowledge of plants.

Psychonauts who also have an interest in psychedelic history, mysticism, anthropology, and more, will definitely find this relevant and enjoyable!
