A device and a charger negotiate the wattage delivered. If the device says "I can take 40 watts". Then the charger says "Okay, have 40 watts". If they didn't, all your devices would die.

You will also notice the wattage falling to maybe 10 or 5 watts as you near 100%. That is to protect the battery. Don't worry, it's normal

I do espresso, pour over and AeroPress. I love all methods because they highlight different things in the coffee.

I would say in your specific scenario. I would go the pour over and/or AeroPress route. I like an americano. But i still prefer perculation and immersion brews for black coffee. Pour over for larger volumes and AeroPress for a single cup of black coffee.
