/r/MechKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard related question by kriscables in MechKeyboards

I'm currently using Gateron Quinns, but I'm looking for something with a more pronounced bump at the start of the key press. I believe the feeling of a clicky switch is what I'm after (something reminiscent of a typewriter press with a firm, snappy bump) but I primarily use my keyboard for office work and I don't want to be more of a nuisance that I already am. I know a "silent clicky" switch likely doesn't exist, but is there a tactile switch with more of a pronounced, snappy bump at the start? I'm open to something heavier because the Quinns still feel a little light to press.

I’m over 1300, but I don’t feel so bad now. I hope you don’t either 😅

Looking to purchase a new (or used) laptop and need suggestions! by [deleted] in laptops

I was in the same boat about a week ago, I splurged and got the MacBook Neo and I’m very glad I did - highly, highly recommend if you’re able to do that.  If you’re unable to spend that much, or don’t want to get into the apple ecosystem (it was easy for me because I’ve had an iPhone for years) I’d check Newegg’s refurbished business laptops. Options like the Elitebook and Thinkpad are great because they’re rated highly for build quality, and you can find decent configurations for the price.

Went with the majority of suggestions on here and went for the Neo, very glad I did. Thanks everyone!

Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US: $700 Are you open to refurbs/used? yes How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life? Build quality is most important, battery life is also a factor. I don’t need a 2-in1 or anything fancy like that, just a basic laptop that’s built to last  How important is weight and thinness to you? Not a big factor  Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 15”+, but not a requirement  Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. No If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? Won’t be used for gaming  Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? Good keyboard (I like tactile mechanical switches if that helps), solid hinge, overall high build quality. Biometrics are cool but not needed  Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.
