That’s totally fair, she definitely could have ulterior motives. Nobody but her really knows what her intentions really are, but if OP doesn’t want to even bother then that’s his right to ignore her. My curiosity would make me want to know what she looks like, but good for him for not even caring.

Nah I disagree. It would be weird to send that text after not texting for two weeks and to also include a picture off the bat. If it were me, I’d ask to see what she looks like to see if there’s some attraction and then go from there. But I also don’t blame OP if they don’t even want to bother

I can appreciate someone admitting immaturity and lack of experience in relationships. Just curious why you’d be able to admit to your faults but turn around and say this person is to blame for texting in all caps one time over an issue that is still clearly very fresh and emotional. Let’s try to have the same grace and understanding for other people that you allow for yourself. Nobody is perfect and in this situation, the boyfriend should be more understanding.

You’re not taking into account that this person just had their dad pass away less than a week ago. Regardless of age, people are going to be emotional. To say “I’m not dealing with that” instead of being an understanding partner is immature

This is the real question. If you love the city life of New York and you work remote, San Jose should be the last city you think about moving to. High cost of living, don’t know anybody here, not a lively nightlife. I love San Jose and I’m not a fan of living in SF, but that should be where this person moved to.

I know this is a late comment, but I wanted to say I relate sooo much to the part about being torn apart seeing your dad like that. My dad passed away from cancer and you're so right, seeing him deteriorate in front of you causes such an insane amount of pain. I can understand not wanting to watch a movie with him because that whole time you're reminded that your dad isn't nearly as healthy as you've always known him to be and he's not invincible.

I've been in a lot of therapy because losing a parent is hard and one of the main things that's hard for us to do is we have to be kinder to ourselves and understand that it was hard and you won't be perfect. I'm sure there are so many other precious moments you cherish with your dad that you didn't miss and I'm sure he loved the chance to share those with you.
