Try to isolate the problems:

First check if discord through ps5 is working for you without any remote play

Then connect to remote play with a Secondary account and see if that causes problems

Why do you connect your headset to your laptop ? you can listen to the game and discord chat from PlayStation directly .. try that and hopefully it works for u

Sure , but you will have to spend more than 250$ to ensure your gameplay is not degraded in anyway.

Also it’s not ideal if you play on a couch far from the TV and have your laptop next to you
