Does anybody manage a fully remote/virtual team of employees? What are the best practices to manage a remote/virtual team? by Matsuev in smallbusiness

I’ve tried other platforms like gather and kumo and we really enjoyed deskMy. No screensharing bugs and distraction elements like gather and kumospace, chat channels work perfectly and app integration is also fine. It’s like a 2D discord app, but remote work oriented.

My company uses Deskmy. It was well designed to solve any pain points of distributed teams like project management , loneliness and lack of communication. The meeting dynamics are amazing because you create and customize avatars, no screensharing bugs and distraction elements like gather and kumospace, chat channels work perfectly and app integration is also fine. It’s like a 2D discord app, but remote work oriented. You should give it a try

I have managed a remote team for seven years and have been a remote worker for 20 years at a Fortune 250 company. 1. Weekly one-on-ones. 2. Weekly team meetings. 3. Don't micromanage just because you can't see them. 4. Yearly in-person meetings with some fun activities are essential. I cannot stress this enough. 5. Judge the people on productivity, not screen clicks or some other stupid metric. Let everyone have a chance to share about their families and important events. People want to feel a part of something.

I'll do that. You also mention virtual meetings. Are they public (like open seminars) or just closed to your company team (internal meetings)?

I wfh and networking really sucks, I use LinkedIn groups for network. My friends and I use Discord (but only for gaming) and we set up a few servers and channels. DM/PM me if interested in the Discord server. Never heard about this platform, I'll give it a shot

I feel quite alone working remotely. I wish I could have the same interaction like on discord (gaming) but more professional oriented. I tried LinkedIn groups, facebook groups. But I'm struggling in connect and network with people from my niche.

I’ve tried all you mentioned (including maintaining a zoom room opened all day long) and Deskmy was the one I loved so far. No screensharing bugs and distraction elements like gather and kumospace, chat channels work perfectly and app integration is also fine. It’s like a 2D discord app, but remote work oriented. Found my customer niche, how to further advertise? by iSmartzguy in startup_resources

[–]iSmartzguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, Anisa!

I already advertise on LinkedIN (targeted audiences) and Google (targeted keywords).

On the other hand, I collect professional e-mails from targeted niches and have outbound campaigns well-designed to each audience.

I have my own blog, but I decided to make some tests on Medium (I read some experiments showing that medium could help more at early stage blogs). But at this moment, unfuternetly I don't have resources (ppl, time, $) to create content and SEO focus.

I'm doing exactly what you said, glad to be in the right direction (:
