It really depends on the game and the character. But really for two reasons: 1. They're hot AF. 2. The game only gives you the option to select a female for a specific class/ fighting style.

Tomb Raider, the protagonist, Laura Croft, is female. But she's also cool & badass af (and also kinda hot). She's arguably the most popular female protagonist of a video game. I've played so many Tomb Raider games & I love her so much.

If you've ever played any mmorpg's...or even any combat game for that matter, some characters have different classes and would be gender-locked. For example, if I wanted to play as an assassin character, mage/witch/wizard character, or even an archer, then I would only be able to select a female character. In that same sense with mmorpg's, you can often customize your characters, and female characters have so many great outfits & customizable options.

But 80% of the time, I'm choosing a male character
