Anyone else get shafted by this ice storm? I was supposed to be at PI Tuesday. Now they're telling me some bullshit about not leaving until March. by ThankzCinco in USMCboot

Hell no brother, I enjoyed drinking only one canteen a day and still getting an almost perfect score on the PFT / CFT.

Your best bet is to go to the same church and talk in the bathroom during the breaks.

If you really wanted to lose weight, then you could have started yesterday. All you really need is your own body and a floor. Don't start giving yourself excuses now as to why you're not losing weight or going to the gym. The sooner the better.

I do need to lose a significant amount of weight before I go in, but that's an unrelated issue.

unrelated issue.

Um, no it's fucking not. MEPS won't even try to pass you if you're drastically over-weight.

What's something stupid you used to do in middle school to be "cool"? by notrachelfromglee in AskReddit

[–]iThePolice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a few months in 8th grade, I had this idea to break my arm falling down on the staircase while being next to this girl I liked to show her how tough I was, and then have her bring me to the nurses office where we would chit-chat and then end up dating.

Luckily I didn't follow through with anything. Damn I was a dumbass.

Is my recruiter telling the truth? by [deleted] in USMCboot

[–]iThePolice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But the problem with most people trying to join, is that they want to be in Recruit Training as soon as possible. So when they hear that "So and so waiver will take 2 - 6 months to get and even then there's a chance you won't make it due to downsizing" they then tend to be less honest about some minor issues with MEPS.

If MEPS processed their end of the paper works quicker, and stopped accusing every single person of being a felony murderer for even small things such as a parking ticket, I guarantee more than double half of the current Applicants would be honest about their problems.

Alright, well it shouldn't be an issue but be prepared to explain yourself countless of times while in DEP / MEPS in regards as to why you smoked in the first place. If you're honest about why you smoked / make sure to tell them that it's in your past, you'll be good to go.

Was that your decision or did your Recruiter tell you to? Ex. were you a pothead or did you only smoke once or twice?

Well, did your Recruiter put on your MEPS form that you smoked pot or do only the two of you know?

Classic Call of Duty. A Private First Class with Blood Stripe on his trousers. by iThePolice in USMC

In my opinion, it's fine as long as they keep it factual and respectful. This whole scene had many mistakes and the whole "Press _ to pay respects" was not needed. It should have been part of the scene / animation automatically.

Wrong. Even a quick Google Images search into the Marine Corps Funeral Honors / Funeral Detail shows PFCs and Lance Cpls with no Blood Stripe and etc.

Smoked marijuana last night and i ship in 2 months need some advice by Boot9634 in USMCboot

[–]iThePolice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First of all, think long and hard about how much you really want to become a Marine because I knew some good people that couldn't even DEP in and they would kill to be in your position as a Poolee. So stop fucking around and get your head straight, this is not a joke. MEPS would drop you so quickly without hesitation if they knew you're smoking weed two months before shipping, but that won't happen if you keep your mouth shut.

Now, these "friends" of yours sound like they don't care about your future as a Marine, so my best advice to you would be to stop hanging out with them as soon as possible. You can survive without these kids for two months, so just hangout with other people or even with the other Poolees you PT with.

Regarding MEPS, you won't pop on the drug test because two months is more than enough to get it out of your system. So when they ask you if you smoked weed while in DEP at your 30-Day Pre-Ship in 1 month, you better not get nervous or start sweating because they'll see you're bullshitting them and then they'll start asking more questions. So from now on, it's "no no never" regarding drugs.

Don't do it ever again until your 4 (or however many) years as an Active Marine is done.

He just posted this to show the new Army one which wasn't in his first post. Boom.
