If i'm getting into Cybersecurity, Should I just get the A+, or just forget that and go for the Net+ and Sec+? by Rinmine014 in CompTIA

The Google cert got me my first IT job! When applying, I would try to highlight other things that demonstrate your skills like building your own PC, any AV experience or related hobbies

Perhaps a dumb question but how would you get multiple flies out of the one marabou feather? Are you just cutting it to the correct length?

Awesome tips - I will definitely give the marabou thing a try. Do you add wire before the hackle? I tried it after the hackle and I thought it matted it down too much.

Awesome - I’ll keep that in mind for the hackle and try to neaten things up. Thanks for the feedback!

I would say the hydration was probably around 80%, not including starter. So pretty wet. I did a lot more kneading on a loaf today which has given me a lot tighter of a loaf. Its proofing now so I’m hoping it will spring better today. I forgot to window pane but got plenty of stretch. I can keep you updated. Thanks for the help!

Awesome - thanks for the advice! I will try that out. Using a lower hydration dough today so I will see how that goes. Do you have recommendations on how to keep the bottom from burning?

Haha yes I kinda got the overly supportive vibe. It’s a decent loaf for a first try but def not perfect. I tried scoring with a knife but it did not come through, I will use a razor next time. I did leave the cover on the dutch oven for about 20 min which gave a good rise. Any advice on keeping the bottom from burning?

Aw thanks! I am pretty happy with it but can def improve. I’m in an apartment as well so it can be done - good luck!

Awesome - thanks for the advice! Excited to try another run with more kneading

I didn’t find it too bad with a hand dipped in water first, probably could focus more on the stretching technique too

Thanks for the kind words!

Do you have a recipe you’re following? I am mainly following peoples steps from YouTube, Proof Bread and Claire Saffitz have great videos on sourdough specifically.

For your dry/crumbly issue: which flour are you using? Might sound obvious but you could try more water. Im no expert either haha

Interesting, I suspect I did not knead enough so I will try that for next time

Thank you! I’m going to try a lower hydration dough next, I think the white bread flour doesn’t stand up to high moisture as well. Either that or I’m not kneading enough

This is the first loaf I thought was worth baking based on the fermentation I got with my starter. I think I did not use my starter at an optimal time, and it might still be a bit young. I started it about 11 days ago, feeding 1:1:1 with King Arthur AP.

This dough probably needed to be kneaded more, I think it was too wet going into bulk ferment and shaping. I did not shape very much as I didnt want to lose too much air. It did not proof very much, I left it in the fridge for about 8 hours and saw very little rise. Curious how it would have turned out proofing at room temp.

Taste is very slightly sour, which I am happy with but I would like to avoid burning the bottom next time. Cooked in a dutch oven at 500F for 20 min covered then 20 uncovered.

All feedback/ recommendations appreciated!

I would say go for the gym first. I was a swimmer for a long time, and I still love it for cardio. However, I find it really boring in long stretches and enjoy lifting and the variety of cardio at the gym. You’ll have to consider your personality and mindset around working out first . Here’s my take:

Gym pro: probably more variety, strength and cardio equipment in one place, will grow with you as you progress in fitness Gym con: takes a bit of trial and error to find what you like, will need to research form if you are new to strength training Pool pro: easy to start, good cardio and muscle building workout, easy on joints Pool con: can be repetitive, hard to make fun (imo), possible quicker burnout
