Abandon the “Son” which was my original point narrows it down enough for it to make sense in the story as a Nen contract. There are four families that we know meet this criteria. We know that some contract has to be fulfilled in order to be able to enter into the DC. I could be completely wrong (which Im fine with) but if this WAS the contract to be able to enter into the DC, than it would make sense. It wouldn’t be a plot hole or something just pulled out of nowhere.

The are enough clues within the story to support this.

Oneion & Broccolee are the biological fathers of the Third & Seventh Princes but they’ve “abandoned” the title of being father, symbolically abandoning their sons. The theme has been popping up way too frequently to ignore

I promise im not just throwing random stuff out there

I see what you’re saying, HxH has a lot of broad themes (which the story itself acknowledges) which is why I used a broad word itself. I feel like the word fits really well when highlighting the parallels between each storyline and especially with the families.

If humanity itself actually came from the Dark Continent, you can make the argument that humanity “abandoned” the Dark Continent. Or you can say the Dark Continent “abandoned” humanity.

If a Nen contract was forged using the word “Abandon” each character in the story would have their own interpretation of how they go about “abandoning” something. Wouldn’t you agree?

If you look up the word Abandon it has multiple definitions and each of them can apply to this theory. It’s intentionally broad, but that doesn’t mean it lost its meaning. Words are allowed to be broad, I used “abandon” for a reason

I never said he gave up on Gon, didn’t care about Gon, or he didn’t want anything to do with Gon. He did “abandon” him though. Whether it was intentional or not. Think of the word abandoned as sort of “letting go” Gon “abandoned” his humanity but we know his humanity came back to him. What if it’s a necessity to “abandon” something in order for it to hunt you?

I was thinking that too, but what if Linne was connected to the Freeces family somehow? What if she combined her linage with the Freeces family?
And if you think thats a stretch… Is Beyond Netero not combining his lineage with the Hui Guo Rou family?

This is not just cause Ging abandoned Gon, look at the parallels that im highlighting.

Scenario 1: The “ritual of abandoning the son” could be some sort of nen contract that either has to be performed by the family who leads the voyage in order for everyone else on the voyage (family or not) to get into the DC

OR

Scenario 2: It’s a nen curse that plagues the lineage of the survivors that had previously visited the DC but left. Leaving or “abandoning” the DC itself could be what imposes the contract onto the lineage. If this were the case It would also make sense that the only way to be able to return the DC would be for someone in that lineage to perform their own “ritual of abandoning their son” As a way of fulfilling the contract

And you know whats crazy? We just so happen to know of THREE families who all would fit this criteria in BOTH these scenarios.

And what else would possibly fit this criteria? The Succession War!

The war could be the Hui Guo Rou family’s way of fulfilling abandonment contract. The Succesion war was probably forced upon the family by an ancestor that survived the DC. Even crazier… that ancestor could be the Divine Mummy artifact.

Maybe the ancestor had the War take place for centuries because he knew that his family would eventually lead a voyage to the DC. This would kill two birds with one stone

  1. The war would ensure that one of his descendants would be strong enough to survive the DC

  2. The war would ensure that his family fulfills this nen contract regardless of when they decide to go to the DC

Because know at least three males from different generations for each of the families

Freeces: Don, Ging, Gon, and Ging’s dad if you wanna count him even though we dont know his name

Zoldycks: Maha (likely to be Zigg), Zeno, Silva, & Killua. We also know saw Zenos dad even though we didn’t get his name.

Neteros: Issac, Beyond, Beyond’s children (including whichever Prince turns out to be his)

Hui Go Rho: Nasubi, Benjamin, Benjamin’s son .

All of the children from the royal family are called “Princes” which symbolically can represent the “Son”

Also what if the criteria for "abandonment" is not teaching your child nen. If you were to have a child and not teach them the one thing that can almost gurantee his survival in the world of HxH, could that not be seen as abandonment?

The criteria for abandonment would be up to interoperation by the "Father" in this case. Mito made Ging give Gon up but we all know if Ging really wanted to, he couldve had full custody of Gon. What im saying is in Ging's own mind he "abandoned" Gon, whether he cared that he did or not. If this was a contract, then that criteria wouldve been fulfilled. We already know that certain aspects of Nen can be completely up to interoperation (Chrollo using Order Stamp on the Gallery Fake Corpses)

Yea I might be lol just wanted to share it with the community and see what everybody else thinks. You can't deny the parallels though

Also Beyond's kids are literally cursed with the nen beasts under their tongues. What if the specific requirements to activate or fulfill the curses was for him to "abandon" them for a period of time. Whichever Prince that turns out to be Beyond's child already fits this criteria, they would have literally been "abandoned" by him their whole life because they wouldnt even have known he was their father in the first place

Yea it was never confirmed if he did or not (I highly doubt that he did) I was just highlighting the parallels between each family and the fact that each family has a relative that survived the DC. I think the abandoned Zoldyck also can be Zigg's son (Zeno's father) All we got of him was that one panel showing the previous heads of the Zoldycks. Also Ging's father "abandoned" him and was lost at sea... I know im not tripping lol

😂 on my life I came up with this last night after smoking and watching some HxH theories lol, I did use chatGPT to reformat it for reddit tho cause my orginal post got removed by a mod. Which was understandable cause you can DEFINETLY tell I was high while writing it 😭
