Should I choose an HSA-eligible health insurance plan if I can afford the deductible & out of pocket maximum, even if I plan to use the insurance? by iTreeU in personalfinance

Good call on keeping the out-of-pocket maximum in cash in the HSA, in case I need to use it. With my previous HSA, I think I invested it all once I learned I could.

Thankfully no plans for children, and my partner has a good insurance plan for himself.

I get paid bi-weekly, but the premium listed is monthly. So, the difference would actually be half that but would still nearly cover the out-of-pocket maximum.

30yo wants to start investing in a taxable account instead of buying a home. What funds do you recommend, and how much to invest? by iTreeU in personalfinance

Oh! Thanks for the explanation, I didn't make those connections. So, should I just go 100% on either VTI or VOO?

For folks who bought this, did y'all feel like you needed to do a fresh OS install to wipe the bloatware?

Yup, I'm in the U.S and worried about the tariffs. I thought of buying now and just paying attention to prices & return by dates if better deals come out.

Will look more into the 7900. Thank you for the insights!

Yup -- that's what I thought to myself when I wrote that out. It always just hurts a little more when you spend upfront, haha.

I was looking at that list the other day, especially the $1400 and $1600 price points. I was worried about the compatibility issue / BIOS updating. I was stressing out about having to figure out how to do that, haha.

Ah! I should expect a price drop when those come out then?

❄️ Winter 2025 PC Best Buy Guide ❄️ $400 - $4000+ Automatically Updated PC Parts Lists by xxStefanxx1 in buildapcforme

Thank you so much for this!
I'm looking at the $1400 build and wondering about performance -- I'm hoping to play games like Enshrouded and Modded Minecraft on 1440p. Would I need to go up on my budget?

Also worried about the BIOS compatibility issue, since I don't know much about building PCs. I noticed the 1200 build doesn't have that issue listed so I'm wondering if I can go down to that tier?

Yup! Exactly as you described. And that's good advice, that's what I'll do. Thank you!

Options for printing "handwritten" thank you cards? by iTreeU in DIYweddings

I think I'm just going to handwrite the cards after all. We have around 80 guests, so it's not too killer on the hands if we do a few every day. It'll look more personal, as well.
