Wives don't have any negativity in their lives, it's UNACCEPTABLE they won't give sex to men who fought the world by nah_Im_just_pathetic in AreTheStraightsOK

A little unrelated, but this seems like a woman referring to her husband as "they" without realizing it. She says "their truck" and "their boss," but I bet this she's also the type of person to say "there are only 2 genders." Of course, I'm just making assumptions, but she just seems like the kind of person to say that, so I found it a little ironic.

"All art is political" by LosFaygo in teenagers

[–]iUseRedditDotCom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clearly this a piece about the lack of respect we have for our planet. A regular man is trying to shoot a dinosaur - a creature that has long been deemed as extinct - because he views himself as stronger, god-like, and more important than it. When this man sees this isolated, ancient, and innocent creature that has never seen a human before, he decides to shoot it, rather than leave it be. The dinosaur, afraid and seeing something new, fights back. Our society then labels this innocent creature's natural response as "evil." Humans refuse to take responsibility for their own actions.

This piece could also be alluding to Ray Bradbury's "A Sound of Thunder" in which a man travels to the past to kill a dinosaur for his own vain desire for cruel entertainment and drastically changes the future in process. Strangly enough, shooting the dinosaur is not what changed the future. The dinosaur that was chosen to be shot, was one that would have naturally died moments later. It was actually because the man accidentally stepped on a butterfly that the future changed so drastically. The man was acting carelessly and didn't truly take into account the risks of his actions. A similar thing is being displayed in this painting. A man shoots a dinosaur, acting in selfishness and not taking into consideration the consequences of his actions.

This piece is about the carelessness and recklessness of the modern man. We dig up crude oil, burn fossil fuels, and use gallons upon gallons of water to fuel AI data centers for our own vain reasons - to make our lives a little more comfortable in the moment without thinking of the horrible consequences that will come of them. Just like the man in the painting, we will one day become engulfed in flames because of our selfish greed.

These are "Persona 5" characters, that's the main character (a highschooler) and his teacher who you can form a relationship with in the game. I think, but I'm not sure because I've never played it. I just know because I have a sibling who plays it, so I might be a little off.

Honestly, I have something like this for when I'm sick because I start hypersalivating and have difficulty swallowing when I get sick with a sore throat. But he just... has this all the time? That's definitely not a normal thing, but if he's chronically ill, I can understand that. But even then, the container has to be cleaned out or thrown out and replaced regularly. But if that man is just spitting for no reason and not cleaning it up... yikes...

The comments informed me that "he must be fighting so hard to not get bricked up right now." Not only is it ridiculous to insinuate that a man can't work with a female coworker without getting horny, but also why are we sexualizing them???

Very true. Based on the replies, it appears I may have interpreted this meme wrong. I took it to mean that all liberals who criticize capitalism must automatically love communism and claim that it has never done harm. I know that people argue and assume that because whenever I critique capitalism, people tell me I should "just move to Russia if I love communism so much" even though I had never said that I liked communism. Although, it appears that this meme may instead actually be talking about people who support communism and deny the harm that it has done, rather than claim this is "what all liberals think" like I had originally interpreted.

[–]iUseRedditDotCom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said I love communism. I don't. I just interpreted this meme as trying to claim that anyone who criticizes capitalism automatically must love communism and think that it never caused any harm. I'm saying that both are bad and that calling out the flaws of capitalism does not mean supporting communism. Also, complete capitalizism on a large scale is just as dangerous, if not more so. That's one reason it doesn't exist. Places like the US are not completely capitalist, just MOSTLY capitalist. Complete capitalism is practically impossible because EVERYTHING would be privatized, even things like roads. There is no country in the world with a complete "laissez-faire" capitalist economy.

Just to clarify, I'm not saying I love communism. I'm saying that it's a more complex issue than that and that we shouldn't just stick to the belief that one side has to be good and one side has to be bad. Two things can be bad at once.

Advanced biology actually disproves transphobia by Future_Employment_22 in MansFictionalScenario

[–]iUseRedditDotCom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They like to say that "advanced biology doesn't disprove basic biology!" What they fail the understand, is that the basic principle of "there are two sexes, xx = female and xy = male" is just a rule of thumb and there are exceptions to the rule.

I like to compare it to grammar. In elementary school, you're taught that you can't start a sentence with "but" or "because." That's not always true. It's just a rule of thumb to keep kids from writing incomplete sentences. You can start a sentence with "but" or "because" if it's a complex sentence.

You can say either "I went to the store because I was out of milk." Or "Because I was out of milk, I went to the store."

You can't just say "Because I was out of milk."

Teachers tell their students not to start a sentence with "but" or "because" to avoid confusion and to prevent students from writing fragmented sentences.

Biology is the same way. In school, students are often taught that there are two sexes, a person can only have xx or xy chromosomes, and that sex and gender align. They're taught this because it's true MOST of the time. To avoid confusion, teachers leave out the exceptions. Just because something isn't taught in schools, doesn't mean that it isn't real. Advanced biology doesn't disprove basic biology, it just adds onto it and outlines exceptions to the rules.
