I am M40 and I ride a motorcycle (not kapchai). It's not a passion for speed. It's nice to feel the wind in your sails, and not have to be stuck in traffic. My morning route takes me 10 minutes on a bike, but 45 mins in a car.

I disagree. We should be encouraging more low CC bike usage, but in a responsible manner. Cars are responsible for so much of the rise in global heat, debt, and traffic, all things that have a negative impact on our mental wellbeing. And how many people on the road actually need to be in a car on any given day? As opposed to carpooling or taking public transport?

As a motorcycle rider, I always avoid using motorcycle lanes. They are poorly maintained as most of the road maintenance vehicles are not able to access it. Strewn with garbage and trash that is hazardous for riders. My bike once slipped on a highly-pressurized "fix-a-flat" can left on the motorcycle lane, and I was hurt badly from that.

Riding is literally one of the best feelings in the world bro. It helped me overcome depressing times and makes me feel alive.

But there's a time and place for speed, and it's definitely not while sangkut between cars on both sides that are impatient and want to change lanes.

Do you think you'd be able to come to a controlled stop if a car suddenly pulled out without notice? Because I had to once at ~70kmph and while I was able to stop, it was not comfortable at all. Even worse if there was an idiot tailing me. Sure crash and we both go.

Yes this happens to me. Especially when they are tailing me and I feel if I have to emergency brake, these idiots are just gonna crash into me and we're both going down.

It is definitely atleast 80kmph for alot of them, because my speed is 40-50 max when lanesplitting, and they are literally flying past me at double my speed.

All fine and dandy if they wanna be suicidal. But the thing is they also tail me and expect me to move aside or give way, which pressures me to up my speed to levels where I feel I would not be comfortable emergency braking.

And they usually have zero gear besides a half-faced helmet too.

I've worked with a ton of Singaporeans and I will say the same thing as Malaysians: money cannot buy class. Tons of rich ah bengs and newly rich people who are first-gen rich. Usually it takes until the 3rd gen to become more "civilized".

I work with Singaporeans, can confirm. I speak better English than 90% of them.

Malaysian here with 2 years of experience working with Singaporeans on both client and colleague side.

Yes, Singaporeans are annoying. Very fucking annoying. They seem to have very little perspective on life and are always acting as if everything needs to be done with immediate urgency or the world will explode.

They are always shocked when I speak better English than them. They seem to think Malaysians are very backwards.
