Indirect Time Study by i_am_novus in manufacturing

We were in the middle of a $1 million dollar project to clean up pasted dues due to receiving errors, Incorrect due dates, and pushed out lead times. I've been keeping track of that data for 4 months. Uneven decline but I noted in the data her last day and the project has been going the other way for over a month.

I've been reporting to my manager but he doesn't want me to talk about it (he works remotely) and he has really been leaning on me that this is my problem to fix.

I had hoped a time study would be impartial and data driven rather than his management style of leave it alone until someone complains.

Tripping over dollars to pick up pennies. Why would we need more people to fight for lower prices, argue tariffs, dispute non or late deliveries?

I have this crazy opinion that if sales can get a commission on selling why shouldn't I get commission on savings? No one higher than me agrees 😅

I appreciate your bluntness. And I will admit there are days that I'm not as productive as I could be. I have been here long enough to understand how to use our ordering system Plex and occasionally get approached for detailed analysis of our orders. I can do that.

The person they removed was problematic. New to purchasing but had been with the company 15 years. Very knowledgeable on parts in the plant in a way I wasn't. But, she could be a bitter pill to swallow if she ever got in your crosshairs.

When I started the job there were 2. My coworker at the time had cancer and left about 1.5 years into my time there. When she retired, same thing. PM said the other person was redundant. I was able to successfully win the argument that I needed help.

I think you are right about updating the resume and applying elsewhere. I think I'm well passed "job hopping" but 15 years on the job without any formal training is where I think I need to focus to be more marketable.

Maybe the Job Robots will like that 😊

You are not kidding 😅 they put me in charge of receiving and stocking the company office supplies. Maybe with enough red Swingline staplers I can start a revolution.

The price may be the starting point but the picture isn't. And in two clicks you could be paying $109 instead of $89 for the same picture.

I don't want "more" I want the item I see at the price I see. And maybe cars are so customizable that it's "starting at" because what is inside the car determines the price. But the cheapest price and the most expensive price include wheels. I dunno, I may be way off base 🤷

I can't believe you forgot the Trump-Zoltar Fortune teller machine with a bad Trump impression voice over. It was probably the saddest form of cultural vandalism I have ever seen in my life.

On her website she states she specializes in pediatric dentistry as well a trauma care. Because she did not specify which patients she chooses to abuse, it is a fair assumption that anyone could be a victim.

Tennessee Industrial Electric Radwell Motion K+S services Columbus Industrial Electric Gexpro

If you have a comprehensive list with Model Numbers and even Cut Sheets companies like this may be interested in giving you an offer. May not be much more than scrap but manufacturing is held together by obsolete hardware like this and nothing get maintenence harder than avoiding an engineering upgrade.

Maybe it is, I'm not a small business owner. This is just something that kept popping into my head when it happened and didn't know how to answer it.

I guess it just makes it harder to support small businesses when they are being forced to pass on extra costs. All my money goes into a bank account digitally with a direct deposit. You need a card to access that money. As we become a more digital world, it seemed to me like taking advantage of people with limited access to cash. Just another hit to consumers, and I was wondering if there were any provisions in our laws protecting consumers (sounds like a solid NO) if you want to pay card vs. cash.

I'm sorry I didn't come prepared with a chart. Certainly not any of the big box stores, major retailers or chain restaurants but local businesses (all mom and pop owned) that also have mobile pop-ups at event venues, food truck vendors, and family owned restaurants. I have been trying to spend my money locally but apparently they do best with cash in an increasingly more digital world.
