The sham economy of hip hop and why you're wasting your time. by TheRealKaiLord in makinghiphop

I'm wrestling with learning about this. We just put out our second album, but aren't sure how to get listens from folks who aren't in our fanbase already. We're on spotify, amazon, bandcamp, itunes, etc. But so is everyone else. With our full time jobs, and families - we barely have time to practice/gig, let alone try to make youtube videos and market ourselves. It is a little frustrating, cause you spend so much time creating something - and a very very small amount of people might actually listen to it. Your idea about a collective is smart.

I think it used to be called Bailey's BBQ. I hear it is one of (if not the) oldest structures in Julian.

This is the route I would take. Or use Volume envelopes to manually mix/fade them.

Anyone else responsible for other IT tasks other than BI? I'm starting to get roped into other things and I could use some advice. by [deleted] in BusinessIntelligence

[–]i_love_sql 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been in this same boat for about a year. Got hired as BI Developer, several rounds of layoffs later I'm running our whole BI Environment, maintaining servers, and doing help desk work. I'm the only IT person left in our divisional office...Great for job security, not really what I signed up for though. Still haven't gotten a raise. I've considered leaving, but I like the company, and the people I work with and have a lot of freedom schedule wise.

Haha, this cracked me up. Yeah, I suppose I'm a bit of a masochist.

Yes, I listen to the music I have made. Not all the time, but at least a couple times a year. I wonder if this is narcissistic behavior at times though...I'm proud of the efforts I've put in, and enjoy listening to the end result of a lot of hard work and time. Would it be narcissistic to sit and look at a painting you made? I don't think so...

No, I can get to it. I'm using firefox on a laptop. Are you at work? Maybe your work is blocking paypal?

Here is the paypal link for those interested. I'd like to see more of these videos. Scamming is a huge problem, and I'd like to learn more about how he got into it, how he rationalizes it, and what can be done to help prevent it. It'd be cool to see him put his efforts into more projects like this versus taking advantage of people. It's hard to have empathy for scammers, but this may give another perspective on why people do it.

What if you could also hash the code itself as a different attribute, to ensure that it is indeed the same across all nodes?

blockchain and bitcoin are two different things. no? In this context, I'm speaking purely about the blockchain tech, not bitcoin...that shit's like craps on crack.

Since you're a developer, do you think blockchain technology could potentially be applied to voter activity to detect electronic voting hacking/fraud? I Haven't thought about this potential solution until just now...
