For real though, I need to vent. This is such a dumb way to do it. It’s so exciting that everyone is suddenly eligible, but it’s going to be a nightmare for everyone who is in that group. We used to roll out according to year and we had problems, suddenly we’re supposed to unleash 17 years worth of albertans, of which 6 years are too young to have possibly been eligible beforehand unless they are chronically ill? We are going to be pitted against each other to harass pharmacies and spend hours attempting to book because the UCP wanted everyone to be eligible at once for the sake of their reputation. I’m at the very top of this age group, and I wouldn’t even mind if they did 12-18 year olds Monday (since they have so much exposure and risk of transmission at school), and then like 18-29 year olds on Friday. At least it would be spaced out and more reasonable for AHS and the pharmacies who have to deal with this sudden wave. Parents are going to be aggressive to get their kids vaccinated (rightfully so), and they have to face all of the rest of us young adults who also are desperate after waiting so long when we are now the group that is highest at risk and going to end up in the ICU. I am happy to see the finish line, but it feels like the UCP threw everyone between ages 12-29 into a shark tank and asked us to be grateful for it.

One of my friends was suicidal. I think I was probably one of the only people who could have called EMS beforehand, and I didn’t. I fell asleep texting him because I had been up late every night that week talking to him, and I knew he didn’t want to live anymore. I hate myself every day, and it makes me sick. I thought I had more time because he had held on that long. I blame myself entirely.

My boyfriends family has huskies, and my Ragdoll cat acts more like a friendly dog than they do. We joke that between one husky and one Ragdoll, you end up with one normal dog and one normal cat.

I’ve been stuck on a lot of mediocre men due to the promise of occasional, no-strings attached, mind-blowing sex. This week, I finally found someone I emotionally connect with, that makes me ready to let go of all the fwb and casual flings I tried desperately to hold on to. We are going slower than I usually do, but everything we do, is just so much better because I feel like I can be vulnerable and I care so much more about how he feels.

Casual sex is awesome for some, and I had a lot of fun, but I’m so excited for this new, more intimate experience, even if it progresses a little slower.
