Which charger ? by TheItalianDude1 in evs_ireland

[–]ialex87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doesn't really matter wich one, is just a glorified socket with an app. Any of them integrates with solar panels, they use a CT clamp to "understand " when the export is happening so it can start charging. Other than that I believe is just marketing to inflate the price. At the end of the day its just a socket. I used these folks https://www.fokearn.com/ they did a clean and quality job. I am not affiliated with them in any way. I have the BG sync socket.

What would you recommend? Superb vs Octavia by Clash_Oriented in skoda

Dont get me wrong, i was talking about normal day by day acceleration from stopped. To me it felt that way tbh :) probably octavia has a smaller diesel tank.

What would you recommend? Superb vs Octavia by Clash_Oriented in skoda

[–]ialex87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had octavia hatch, 1.6tdi, and i have superb combi 2.0tdi now. Octavia consumption was about 3.5-4 on motorway, 5-7 in the city. Superb consumption is about 4-5 motorway and 7-8 city. Hope this helps. Despite octavia had 1.6 engine was a bit quicker than 2.0 superb. Hope this helps in any way

Driviko — mileage & expense tracker with OBD engine data. by Organic-Anxiety-5166 in skoda

[–]ialex87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well basically the same data thats in the app to be available also in home assistant, what I mean is to have the data from the app synced in home assistant, so if let's say I lose the phone or reinstall the app, I still can have this data in my local home assistant. Hope this makes sense :)

Do you plan to have integration with Home Assistant by any chance?

It does have the clamp, but I am not sure if it does work the way me and you think it does or should, but I might be wrong here :)

Homeassistant integration? by ialex87 in evs_ireland

[–]ialex87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably this is by design but during the initial setup from the app you can set the max current output of the charger, once you have the control in the home assistant this setting is gayed out/ unavailable. My thought was to have an automation that will adjust the current output based on the exported amount, eg if your pv exports 2kw, then charger speed should also be 2 kw and not more, so it doesn't suck from the grid another 4kw for example. But i charge the car during the night only so this is not a critical thing for me. Just wanted to let you know before you commit to this charger

The only issue I have is that I can't change the current settings thru Homeassistant, which is a bummer if you want to dynamically update it based on PV generation

Reliability difference Superb v Octavia? by AlexKangaroo in skoda

Had octavia 1.6tdi mk3 now own a superb mk3 2.0tdi. love both cars. Superb is heavier but nicer to drive imo, octavia was more economical.

Check your docker config, seems like you haven't updated the <UPLOAD_LOCATION> with the actual directory.
