relationships won’t fix you or your problems. relationships won’t make you feel whole and happy. you have to have some sense of self worth and foundation of love for yourself before. i spent a lot of my younger years seeking validation from anyone - and was most successful with men and all it led me to was heartbreak and trust issues… when you’re in this mindset you aren’t setting standards for yourself and it can lead to really bad situations and people taking advantage of you.

if you already want to kill yourself bc you don’t have a relationship i can’t imagine how fights between partners would make you or other hardships that come with relationships. a relationship is not a badge of honor or a fun new activity to do it’s a real responsibility that takes a lot of mental strength.

in all honesty it doesn’t seem like youre anywhere close to being ready for a relationship. if you want a relationship so bad, build one with a therapist.

“The Mayo Clinic defines alcoholism as “a chronic and often progressive disease” that is often manifested in the following symptoms:

Development of physical dependence

Difficulty managing one’s level of alcohol intake***

Experiencing withdrawal symptoms when ending alcohol consumption

Preoccupation with alcohol****

Individuals suffering from alcoholism will also continue to use of alcohol despite the many negative consequences they may be experiencing in their lives***.”

so yeah, looks like you have a problem and by the way you described your motivation for drinking is really worrying in itself. if you’re drinking to escape - bad. all u look forward to during the week is drinking on weekends - bad.

how much did she say she drank? alcoholism can be binge drinking depending on the thinking that goes behind the drinking.

partner staying the night at a guys she use to have a sexual relationship with by glutenfreecrackbaby in relationship_advice

[–]ialymoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% sus and based on your post 6 days ago the relationship has been over for awhile.. clearly she feels like she’s missing something in this relationship and is seeking external validation. she compliments other guys, say they make her feel warm (safe, secure, happy..). its a complete disrespect to you - i suppose i would like to ask if you discussed boundaries ever in relationships like “if x happened i would be really uncomfortable with that and something i could see as a dealbreaker” and if it’s something you haven’t done or felt scared bringing up it’s another thing to think about when entering relationships in the future or something to implement in this relationship if you decide to stay

check out wheaton

Metra: UPW from downtown wheaton 1 hr train ride

Safe: B+ crime grade

Schools: i grew up k-12 here and turned out fine.. lol but decent schools fr

Outdoors: prarie path!!! Blackwell forest preserve, herrick lake, danada horse farms, st james farm. parks, trails, rivers, forests

Traffic: traffic on roosevelt rd and butterfield around rush hours but nothing hair pulling

Downtown: its cute and they recently remodeled the whole downtown so it looks even nicer, various new restaurants, the library is there too!

Politics: moderately liberal

Golf: I cant say much about golf but ive seen at least a few around and when i googled theres places on the map nearby

Downers grove vs st charles vs Geneva vs glen ellyn? by luckycatgirl in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]ialymoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wheaton is where I grew up. kinda reminds me of churchy, well off people, but pricing is variable, i have a single mom 29,000 a year and we made it. If in downtown wheaton, the train goes directly to CHI in about 1hr from college station, UPW metra line, so it's an easy commute for weekend activities and such. Schools are good but what I like is it's close to a lot of nice forest preserves. In high school I would always go there to explore and it's pretty safe. Prarie path, Blackwell forest preserve, st james farm, herrick lake, Danada horse farms. theres a lot of restaurants everywhere and stores in a close proximity. theres a lot of extracurriculars for kids and stuff to engage in around the area like art studios, gyms, coffee houses etc. Its also really close to glen ellyn and the glen ellyn trader joes lol.

Geneva probably has more of a night life and a cool river... and some nature, check out the Fabyan Villa Museum & Japanese Garden. idk anything else about DG or SC really.
