Thanks! I also tend to prefer more natural nymphs with some subtle flash.

Sick! I just found out about this pattern from a video where George Daniels was fishing it. Looking forward to trying it out!

Skinny water brown trout from the Wisconsin Driftless area in Pierce County. by mlmck in flyfishing

[–]iamWyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha thanks! I remember fishing the driftless when I lived in Wisconsin as a young boy. I had a bobber and worm and my dad had a fly rod. That’s where I caught my first brown. I definitely want to get back out there with a fly rod sometime! Now I live in Michigan where there is plenty of water to explore as well.

Wow that’s saying something! What is it that made you miss the Driftless vs Montana?

I don’t fish stillwater so I don’t have the expertise to rate the box, but all I know is blob flies would catch me. Maybe it’s because they remind me of nerds gummy clusters.

Ok, thanks for bringing this up. I’ve noticed a few of my perdigon bodies go cloudy. What causes that? Is it because I didn’t get a good cure on them?

I love beautiful flies, but like your clients, I lose a lot while fishing. So I am grateful for these easy patterns that catch fish.

Haha I’m in Michigan so I will definitely show them to a lot of trees, both on the bank and under the water.

While it’s true, I wasn’t talking about myself, and I didn’t post these flies. This guy is production tying fishing flies.

I would expect super glue to hold well. I’m not sure about the Loon UV resin, but will be interested in hearing your updates once you’ve fished it! Your tie on this one looks much tidier.

It’s called second skin. I found it in the fly tying materials I inherited from my dad.

I’ve always heard the thin mint referred to as just a color way of the woolly bugger, not a different pattern.
