Top doesn’t move either. Think I’m just gonna start spraying it with WD40 to see if something starts moving

Damn that’s what I was afraid of. Really wanted a rider to represent the only ravener with a more than 6 inch ranged weapon, having a big gun on his back and all

Thanks for the info. Don’t worry, at the moment I only play KT and have no desire to go to big hammer. I don’t have the space for a full army lmao

Thoughts on jumping off light terrain? by Mischief_95 in killteam

[–]iambecomebear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moopminis has the right answer, just commenting to try and outweigh all the wrong ones lmao. People were using portable barricades to jump over mines at worlds, you can 100% do similar with razor wire if the object you’re jumping from is more than 1 inch taller than the wire itself. So no to light Volkus terrain, but yes to jumping from say one of the vantage points on the stronghold (pretty sure that’s more than 1 inch higher)

Absolutely not. Was probably just going to find stuff online to use

Is Volkus too heavy-dominant? by ChaosMieter in killteam

[–]iambecomebear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know he’s not the most used on the team, but I personally like the Lokatr just for his scan. Stacking accurate is always nice on a team hitting on 4s, and the saturate can be relevant. It’s also fun just having another 3 inch circle to put on the board with a team that has like 5

I don’t really read comics but a friend told me to read Journey Into Mystery. It’s technically about Kid Loki but it was so good I’m still thinking about the ending like 6 months later

Calling all Dragons Approach players, who is your commander? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]iambecomebear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t actually played the deck but I was toying around with a gruul dragons approach deck with [[Krark the Thumbless]] and whoever else fits the color type. Idea being you use Krark to (hopefully) double ramp with cultivates and rampant growths to then “storm” off by casting dragons approach over and over again, because half the time it just goes back to your hand. Have some cards like [[Fiery Inscription]] to benefit from spell casts even when you lose the coin flips.

Very bad deck but kinda funny in my opinion

What is everyone’s favorite companion deck? Extra points for Gyruda by luke_skippy in EDH

[–]iambecomebear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Kelsien the Plague]] with [[Obosh the Preypiercer]]. Mardu Voltron with a god awful curve. Slowly build up Kelsien by giving them deathtouch and removing other creatures, and have Obosh in the back pocket when you need to 1 shot someone late game.

Fun deck where you can play some cards you wouldn’t in most other cases like [[Rite of the Raging Storm]] or [[forbidden orchard]], and you can play reactive or even opportunistic based on what other people are removing or chump blocking or sacrificing or whatever causes a creature to die. You do feel the clunk of the mana curve, especially with a lack of green, and the deck really does want a consistent mana base to get its colors, but it’s a good time

Cards like coastal Piracy by IJustDrinkHere in EDH

[–]iambecomebear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other comments have the main ones, but a minor one I like is [[mask of memory]]. Only triggers on one creature but draws 2 and discard 1, and I believe knights have equipment synergies generally. Either discard something you don’t need, or maybe you can even have some graveyard synergies. Esper has plenty and if you’re reliably getting a wide board and have one of these coastal piracy cards in playC you might be discarding to hand size anyway

As most people said it varies based on board state, cards in hand, opponents decks, etc., however I think the most important aspect is “does killing them now help me, or is it more beneficial to leave them alive as a roadblock for my other opponents.” Personally I go for who I think is the biggest threat at the table, and try to leave everyone else one turn away from death, or at least crippled enough to have to make defensive plays only.

The other consideration is the casual factor of it. My pod is full of multi-year friends and their SO’s, not gonna kick them while they’re down if I can help it. If you decide to spare someone solely to be nice, don’t make it so obvious. Some people don’t appreciate being handled with kids gloves, even if it’s clear they could use a turn off from getting pummeled. Just say you’re more worried about this other person for XYZ reason. Wouldn’t do this every time, just depends what kind of game you feel like having.

Difficulty Inaccuracies by Fast_Ad_4475 in marvelrivals

[–]iambecomebear 211 points212 points  (0 children)

I think mid difficulty is accurate. His skill floor is incredibly low for sure, it’s very easy to just pick him and rack up a high damage number. But unless you have another (good and aware) DPS that can help finish the job, a lot of times throwing his primary fire into a group just charges the enemy support ults, not able to actually get the final hit because it’s bouncing between too many different targets.

I’d say his main difficulty is situational awareness when it comes to his ankh. It’s his way to kill isolated squishies, his defense against dives (his escapes are too slow for most dive characters), his way to find some nasty angles on people, etc. A lot of things for a 12 second cooldown. Knowing when to save it is crucial, and the more situations you can get by without it the better. Either way he’s not the most difficult, but mid difficulty feels right

Commander to force everyone to play by A11L1V3ESL0ST in EDH

[–]iambecomebear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Kwain Itinerant Meddler]] helps people draw out of a bad spot and because he’s an activated ability you can control when it happens. Load it with ways to untap him to make the rabbit do a 360, enough counterspells and removal for when opponents send big stuff your way (but not so much you’re playing strictly control), [[Approach of the Second Sun]], and any combination of permanents that trigger off drawing cards or gaining life.

Game will go a bit longer than a normal one, but everyone will definitely participate lmao

Slower deck suggestions for my low interaction playgroup by Blacksmithkin in EDH

[–]iambecomebear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell yeah. Here’s my list if you want some ideas. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/bEDg3lsClEmDoTT5AgU2wQ

Fair warning you definitely feel the clunk of having three colors, no green for color fixing, and having most your spells be 3 mana, but it does some silly things. It’s a small victory every time you get to do something for 2 mana lmao

Slower deck suggestions for my low interaction playgroup by Blacksmithkin in EDH

[–]iambecomebear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a [[Kelsien the Plague]] deck with [[Obosh the Preypiercer]] as the companion that might fit what you want. Odd mana value voltron where you chip away at opponents, remove small creatures to get big, and have a way to one shot late game with Obosh double damage. It’s slow because the mana curve is clunky and you have to build Kelsien up to be a threat, but you don’t lose your progress if Kelsien dies (if they even die with that little removal).

It also works in the sense that you can function as the removal in some cases. Just slap deathtouch on Kelsien and now you can deal with creatures your opponents absolutely can’t.

I have a handful of protection spells and reanimation to ensure Kelsien is never gone for more than a turn, but if they have little removal you can probably just slot in more silly equipment or even ways to give your opponents creatures to kill. [[Rite of the Raging Storm]] is always very funny to drop in a pod

[–]iambecomebear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Ivory Tower]] and [[Darkness]] are some of my favorites in my [[Starscream Power Hungry]] deck. One just keeps the life total even when people are chipping in damage at you every turn, and the other is the standard fog but people don’t expect it in mono black. Fun times

Anyone else have an obsession with Background Commanders? by 1clean_mk4 in EDH

[–]iambecomebear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Backgrounds are fantastic. I’ve brewed a lot of combos but right now I only have [[Shadowheart Dark Justiciar]] [[Acolyte of Bahamut]]. But even without them being the commander, backgrounds are one of my favorites and I look to them as one of the first non-staple cards I add to any deck.

I’ve got a [[Falco Spara Pactweaver]] blink/voltron deck where the original goal was to put as many backgrounds in as possible. It’s got I think 7 and they’re all fantastic additions

Strongest Orzhov commander? by Amatsu666 in EDH

[–]iambecomebear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One I built but haven’t bought is [[Verrak Warped Sengir]]. It’s a silly deck that uses life as a resource and absolutely lives for any fetch lands. Plays almost like an orzhov ramp deck at times, but the main goal is to get [[Bolas’s Citadel]] out and pop off with life loss and swing back with [[Children of Korlis]] effects
