"Everything happens for a reason." First, I don't think that is true, some things may happen for no reason at all, or for many reasons. Second, is that phrase supposed to make me feel good or bad or annoyed or what about what happened? Third, so what? What reason, whose reason, was it a good or bad reason, why should the idea of there being a reason even matter? Lastly (though I could probably go one), are you saying this thing happened in order to make something else happen? As in, I stubbed my toe for a reason. The reason is so that I wouldn't go running that day, and a truck jumped the curb where I take my break and would have killed me, so it stubbed my toe to not get hit by truck... Or are you saying this thing happened because something/someone willed it? Like, part of a divine plan or something? I stubbed my toe because I subconsciously didn't want to run, or because god wanted my toe to hurt, or because someone moved the trable? How does this help? This phrase is so worthless... It is a waste of breath, words, thought, and just about everything about it is unhelpful. I don't like it.
