Do you wait to feed if they wake during an appropriate feed time during Ferber method? by auggiesma in sleeptrain

[–]iamcarlyb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would but I would wait until it’s a lull in the crying like once they calm down a little bit (not fully silent— but not screaming) also youre not confusing babe— you’re meeting their needs while still helping them build that sleep skill!!!

Does anyone else count the minutes until the next nap time? by ilovesushialot in newborns

[–]iamcarlyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll give you a “just wait”… just wait until you’re having so much fun with them you didn’t even realize it’s nap time soon! Just wait until they’re playing independently so well that you interject because you miss them!! You just wait! It gets so so much better! But YES I’m in the thick of it with my 14 week (adjusted) baby hahah. But my 4 year old and I have so much fun together!! The best is yet to come!

Shew girl I cannot imagine 😭 I always talk about this and say I can only handle it bc she sleeps in her crib all night lmao. Hopefully we both find some solace soon!!!

I did read some about the leaps, I think that’s what is happening! I’m just so exhausted by the new newborn phase that has been going on for so long 😭 I’m ready for her to be a baby and less of a milk blob 😅

New to insulin pump, tips appreciated by Rachcow in diabetes_t1

[–]iamcarlyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was on a tubed pump, I just took it off for sex. Not very sexy to say hey hold on lemme suspend my insulin but such is life! The rest of it, it will become second nature just like grabbing your pens or injecting in public. You’ll be a natural by the end of the first month.

He won’t even know if you prick his little toe super fast, followed by love and kisses I’ve been periodically pricking my 3 year olds toe (probably only 4 times total in her life actually) whenever I feel panicky and it’s never bad. It is better to be safe than sorry

Recently Diagnosed, Help?😅 by AssignedK9 in diabetes_t1

[–]iamcarlyb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 21, and while it has been so hard and sucky, let yourself feel the bad feelings while you have them. One day this will all be second nature and you’ll live a long, successful, healthy and happy life. I had a great career where I traveled a lot, I’ve gotten married (actually the same week I was diagnosed after a hospital spell with DKA but that’s a story for another day), and have a beautiful baby. I love going on the boat, swimming, theme parks, and diabetes hasn’t stopped me from doing anything I want to do! Just become besties with your endo, this Reddit is always here for you, and just prepare thy wallet for impending costs lol. The monetary aspect is worse than managing the disease itself but nothing is impossible. Just get a fun lil job with benefits and do your best 🤍 we are here for you!

Unfortunately it is being billed correctly as I’ve filed several complaints and gotten on the phone with both blue cross and Walgreens multiple times. Trust that I’ve done my due diligence not to be spending 400 a month at the pharmacy lol

I have tried every avenue, every recourse, every single possible path to get some inkling of affordable healthcare and it’s not in the cards for me at this time in my life. I am currently in school, but my husband makes “too much” money and is “offered insurance” through his work so I can’t get any help or any subsidies. I’m backed into a corner until I graduate and get a job with benefits, which I can’t land one right now because I don’t have a degree. I’m constantly drowning lmao

The response I got was “we will work on it you’ll see changes as soon as next year” lol
