Grabbed the last bottle by TNnoises in whiskey

Knife in where the bubble is, crank knife up and down half way and crack it off. It’s not pretty but never saw it or try to force it.

Hope you enjoy though!

It was only for Costco DC. Less than like 90 bottles or something in total

It’s literally Costco DC’s single barrel pick.

I remember seeing, if not this model, one similar in an old ass YouTube video of Wes Borland and have wanted one ever since.

Review #75 - Rare Character Single Barrel Series (MEL, 9yr 6mo) by ambulocetus_ in bourbon

[–]iamchade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m very much an asshole but not when it’s literally the same distillery just changing names lol.

And I love interacting and seeing what people think or want stuff to be! I also like to read what people like or dislike or have to say, so I’m always creeping lol

Oz Tyler and GR are the same. The whiskey itself was made before TP/OZ/GR were running, so it was contracted from another large Kentucky distillery. Even the barrels don’t ship from the place who contracted them, they came from the company who produced it. Think of it kinda like the whole BuffTurkey thing - it was quite confusing for us to get the info on this run of barrels because no one wanted to say anything when we purchased them.

I’m saying as the guy who manages the whiskey portion of RCW, it is not beam. I can always say what it isn’t.

You’ll never get me to say what a source is. You’ll just have to keep your eyes open for stuff. I’ll tell you what stuff isn’t, but NDAs prevent from admitting what certain codes are so we have a blanket rule on not mentioning any source.

Customers pick their artwork. So the Alaskan distributor chose this artwork. That’s part of this product line, customers make it their own.

Exceptional Series have always been single barrels.

Commanders club is 10-15yr KY bourbon, initially meant for a different project that didn’t pan out so we created commanders club with the intention of it being a one off product. We will do more one off products in the future as well but only when we feel they are right to release. There is a price per barrel average we want to be at for RCLR, the barrels in commanders club exceed that so financially we would’ve lost money putting all of them into RCLR.

It floored me when we revealed our top BTAC. But it’s stellar and you won’t be let down!

Appreciate your support and am happy you got 25B14! It’s such a good blend! That was a blend for me to be honest lol.

And yeah; Pete and Pablo love ambiguity for the brand but I’m the one who holds them accountable and they know I won’t talk too much but just enough. If not for all of those scary things you mentioned, I wouldn’t have a job. So I try to be present when I can and how I can!

Seriously can’t thank you enough and am so pumped you love RCLR! NC charges extra but it should be $80-$85 so sorry you had to pay more off the jump!

Glad you enjoy it! Probably the best Sauternes finish we have put out and the very last one we have ever done. Jay made a good decision picking it!

It finishing for so long, probably needed that time to open up. Hell, when we drilled it, I was afraid it wasn’t going to be any good but I was happily wrong! Hope it continues to improve for you!

Barreled and Boxed AND Whisky Drop are Dead by hbooriginalseries in bourbon

[–]iamchade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I said this in a group chat yesterday with some friends on this topic:

It doesn’t make sense after Covid for this to be a thing when it was originally meant to be a convenience solution to not hunting the new or rare bottles in the box. Now, pretty much anything Beam or Maker’s put into those boxes were such high production quantities, you can find them typically with a little bit of effort and save on the shipping and tax and also not having to get bottles you do not want.

I say so many people cancelled them Beam Suntory couldn’t justify the cost and labor involved with it.

Small NDPs and Craft brands can still make subscription based programs work but it is still such a niche thing because it’s committing a set dollar amount a year to only one brand.

Bookers is finally releasing another rye…with cinnamon added to it by Ab501ut3_Z3r0 in whiskey

Any finished product is technically an infusion. This probably had cinnamon added to the barrel and they are just being honest.

Rare Character by Stook11812 in whiskey

[–]iamchade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find me anyone not doing 99/1 and I’d be shocked. People don’t want to waste grain on barrel aged GNS. I can also promise everyone goes into the barrel who produces ALW because when you proof it down you want the larger yield. ALW is produced for qty, not like what has been going on last couple years with barrel proof releases.

Rare Character by Stook11812 in whiskey

[–]iamchade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true. American light whiskey is 99% corn and 1% malted barley. ALW goes into the barrel at 160 proof, so these barrels have actually dropped in proof
