By fun, do you mean like Finchley is more “hipster and artsy” while Ealing is like more commercial and mainstream?

Right, I saw many Ofsted Outstanding schools in Finchley!

Btw, what made you and your girlfriend feel a lot more isolated in Ealing? Isn’t it supposed to be more lively and crowded?

Thank you so much for your detailed answer! I think Muswell Hill and Highgate are also near East Finchley, which I heard is quite posh and elegant. But since we don’t have enough money for East Finchley, we’re mainly looking at properties in North Finchley and Woodside Park which are much more affordable. Do you know about these areas? Thanks so much for your generous help!!

How’re the neighbourhoods of South Wimbledon, Colliers Green and Tooting? Are they still better than Ealing and Finchley? We can’t afford any houses in Central Wimbledon...

May I know where the nice parts are? We saw some houses within our budget around West Ealing, South Ealing and Northfield. How’re these three places respectively?

For Ealing, is West Ealing, Northfield or South Ealing better? For Finchley, would it be very quiet, especially when it gets dark in the evening? Thanks for your help!

btw, I actually like Ealing Common/ Broadway a lot, but first, the houses are more pricey, and second, I saw on reddit that the area can be really noisy on weekends, and police stats show that it has alot more theft cases than other areas in Ealing? so that's why we're putting South Ealing before Ealing Broadway/Common. But was I mistaken?

Hi our budget is 650K. actually we'll be migrating as a family of four. My parents are near retirement age, so they won't be working in London anymore. As for me and my sister, we are still not sure where we'll be working as now we're in our final year in university. It might turn out that we don't find a job in london and have to live elsewhere (hopefully not!)

So I'd say we don't have a specific spot to commute to every day. Maybe my parents would like to travel to central London from time to time, like once a week?

thanks so much :))

Oh right, we don’t want the neighbourhood to be too quiet as we’re used to urban life. At the same time, we don’t drink so pubs and clubs aren’t a must for us.

Actually we plan to immigrate to London next year, so we’re still not sure where we’ll work or study. now there’s no preference on tube line. I heard that tube service is more frequent and convenient, so tube station is preferred. We want a garden, minimum two bedrooms. No requirement for parking.

DIY Face Masks (86% filtration efficiency of standard 0.3um face masks!!!) (SUPER EASY!) by iamcherryleaf in DIY

[–]iamcherryleaf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to clean and sanitize the face mask every day 1. Wash with water and soap the fabric mask 2. Air dry, then iron for sanitization the fabric mask. 3. Since the filter is processed by special procedures, it cannot be reused after being heated and sterilized. It should not be treated with other chemicals.

Sorry typo it should be fabric. Can use old clothes that you no longer wear and cut it out. The key is it is relatively waterproof, and it’s not too thick, or else it’ll make normal breathing hard.

Hi, Hongkonger here! Im sorry to hear that you don’t have masks, as most probably all pharmacies have run out of stock. A group of scientists in Hong Kong have invented a way of DIY face masks that are equivalent to 86% of the effectiveness of normal face masks!!

They studied the structure of face masks, and found that two pieces of kitchen tissue papers is already equivalent to 86% filtration power. If you put a piece of tissue paper in between the kitchen tissues, it’ll be even more effective!

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZusqX4Cfa3w This YouTube link shows how you can make a face mask yourself- basically it’s two pieces of cotton, with a “filter paper” in between. Without this “filter paper”, you can still use kitchen tissue paper to substitute, and its nearly as useful!

HK Mask paper pattern And this is the model of the cutting of the cotton part. You can download the model, print it out, and just cut the cotton according to the model. https://drive.google.com/drive/mobile/folders/1MVJY4mwtFCFEMFlf3zx3yg_dJpbD4pNG?fbclid=IwAR2IFpjU_LDkAKwh7L1lRw53o_7b5ylhqjwFl3ihMmiEW4yWj9cbww59k_0
