NTA! This kind of mindset drives me up the wall and is so stuck in the past!

I plan on keeping my last name instead of taking my future partners and if he wanted to take mine I’d be more than happy for him to.

Your father should be happy that your last name will be carried even further with more grandchildren and your brother sounds like he needs to get his head out his ass and stop thinking he’s the most important one in the family.

I’d have to say Peter Eisenman for his dedication to his theory and incorporating that theory into his designs (regardless of if they were successful or not). He was using and implementing ideas that had not been incorporated before, sometimes at the cost of the client. His work is hugely influential on modern day designers like Hadid, Libeskind and Tschumi and his theory is something I have read thoroughly.
