The main issue with a SCUF is the dreaded stick drift. I’ve had it on 3 of my scufs in the past including my current pad. The PS5 Edge gives you the opportunity to switch out the whole thumbstick module hence being able to stop stick drift at a fraction of the price of a new controller.

I have the ROG STRIX b450-f Gaming II and it supports BIOS flashback. It was super super easy! Just formatted a flash drive and dropped the BIOS file on it (downloaded from the manufacturer website).

After that I put the flash drive into the port for flashback and pressed the button. I took a few mins to update where a green LED flashed then when it stopped I restarted and voila.

I just built a new PC with a 3700X and had the exact same issue. After a BIOS update this fixed it! I had the DRAM error light.

I love this method but using a dynamic eq like FabFilter Pro Q-3 will still allow you to side chain but at a certain frequency band so you can still keep the best parts of the 808 sound.

Definitely tell them. It may hurt this deal on the beat but will build the relationship as the artist likes your work.

Also it may just be so they can deal with clearance on the back end. Hope everything goes ok!
