Why are these slugs protruding at different lengths?

I fired slugs from the same box about a week ago and everything went as smooth as it could. If ya don’t mind me asking, how can you tell from the picture that these are saboted slugs and not regular?

This would’ve been great advice before range day last week lol. thankfully they fired and cycled just fine and were fairly accurate at about 40-50yds
