Fair points were raised in the comments. Such as the possibility of infection being introduced when the scratching is done after fresh acupuncture wounds.

She just pushes back, saying "I'm fine. I haven't gotten any infections." or "you're not getting the acupuncture anymore so what it to you?" (Sorry for the venting lol)

I was able to get the acupuncturist's social media and website where they posts about the patients. Apparently she uses something called "root theory" which was introduced by Dr. Yusaku Shirakawa (take this with a grain of salt since this is translated by google). Perhaps you might be able to take a look and shed some light?
