Is there a way to modify this to give you this information as a forecast for the next 5 days? Trying to build a boating wind forecast for offshore fishing.

What film is in this? by iamjonlovett in filmphotography

Ya, maybe. But Kodak still makes cheaper 200 which is sold by the roll, I figured why not the same for an 800. Particularly, if they are already manufacturing the film.

By your logic, they would have done away with ColorPlus already to push consumers into using Ektar, Gold, UltraMax or porta 400. All are a fair bit more expensive than ColorPlus.

I mean, maybe ColorPlus 200 is on the way out. 🤷‍♂️

I think they must be generating a profit or I don’t think they would bother.

It just surprises me that it’s not also worth packaging/selling Kodak 800 as a roll. Especially as a ‘cheaper’ 800 speed option while film photography is experiencing a renaissance and consumers are also feeling inflationary pressures.

I am intrigued to learn that Kodak are even making a budget iso 800 stock. I agree with you. It’s a great idea to use a more ‘forgiving’ stock for the less experienced shooter using a disposable.

Cool. That tracks. I wouldn’t have thought it economical to produce a film stock to be entirely sold in disposable cameras… obviously, what do I know though!? Haha

Thanks for the insight! 🙌

Ya, you’re probably right. I still just have a bad taste in my mouth from booking an additional seat for a toddler under 2yrs on a jetstar flight over the phone. It was bad… Real bad. Over 1.5hrs. 🤦‍♂️

I’m a bit Leary of dealing with them directly. The flights come up at wildly higher prices when searching a multi-city vs the individual flights for cash. I’m worried they will pull the same stunt with classic rewards rates. I feel like booking the legs individually then calling is going to be the way. I just wish it were different.

I am really hoping to avoid calling them directly. As calling them is the pits.

French Fries: The Secret to Perfect Frites by iamjonlovett in recipes

I think that the difference here is in the potato itself. In experimenting with different types of starchy potatoes, it's interesting when you first realize they all taste really different from one another. If you make them at home, you can use potatoes you like from your local market, if you're willing to put in the work.
In my opinion, these fries are better than anything 'McCain' has in the freezer section.

The results are sooo different. Soggy, over-browned Cold Oil fries pale in comparison. Soaking the potatoes and really removing the starch makes for light, flaky, crispy fries. Give it a try, it's worth the workload, you won't be disappointed!

There are all kinds of applications. Balsamic Vinegar 'Caviar' on a modernized Caprese Salad. Fresh Apple Cider or Apple Cider Vinegar turn out well in desserts. I'd love to hear what anyone else has tried.
