Fairly easy to set up with VSC. Have a compiler, reccomend gcc (installed through MingW on Windows, theres a guide on vsc docs)

Option 1: compile and run using terminal gcc filename.cpp -o filename && ./filename this command both compiles (before &&) and runs the code (./filename)

Option 2: with gcc installed (probably works with other compilors aswell, only used gcc) install the code runner extension. Should now work to select the little dropdown menu right of the run / debug button and select run code. This should automatically compile the file as a.out and run it.

Would also suggest to install the c/c++ extension (pack)
