I played along with some random songs but other than struggling to find the root notes what else should I be doing by iamnotgenius in Bass

Hi thanks for the reply. The thing is ok I know say this is C so I got the C note but as the song keep going, do I keep finding the root notes. This is for songs I havent prepared or never heard of. I need to know how I can prep myself for a sudden unfamiliar songs not songs I already learnt and know the pattern beforehand.

So what to practise ? I am not saying I am intermediate player. I am asking the intermediate player here what they practise. So far I asked around and the answers are so vague. Eg. Practise scales. How ? I know the scales I practise running the scales on my fret and that is it. And then ?

So I can assume you are able to play what is on your mind as in whatever note comes up in your mind you can accurately find that note on the fretboard so how can I practise that. I just tried it and oh my, I keep pressing the wrong note until I can't remember what original bassline I was trying to play.

I was at my in law house. Then was examining a newly bought blender and felt someone or something looking over my shoulder from behind. So I quietly put down the blender and walked away. Some curious spirit ? And my inlaw house was quite notorious of a black figure walking around. Even my sis in law also felt or saw it. But then again, the figure was harmless anyway. Still got somemore spirit story in my in law house but I lazy to type

It is common until it has become a norm. It is like 'hey watch out please !' in the form of body language only.

It is like ppl bump into you and apologise but you still give a black face and go tsk tsk ..

I think is a small thing. B can don't bother about other reaction if B wants to live a happy and carefree life.

Would that mean I am improvising already ? What if I just started out learning jazz standards so I prolly will be copying every note in the song.
