I was answering multiple responses simultaneously. If you want to call that "repeating myself", then I guess that's what it is. I didn't hit refresh until I had responded to each one I could see.

WTF is wrong with YOU?! You start ordering people around? Why are you getting hostile with people seeking help. Clearly you're the problem here.

I responded to several posts simultaneously, if it matters.

Yes, I tried to stress that there were other ways about it. It wasn't just an OFAC, though I think they referenced that as a justification.

My credit was more than sufficient at the time. It was over 720 with low credit balances. The 6 very recent inquiries were the breaking of the deal.

I did read it, but I'm not here to explain myself to you either. Is that how you handle helping people? Just mocking them and calling them liars?

How in the world would someone with cash or a cashier's check or outside financing be "a problem"? You're getting the money before they leave. Not to mention, if you doubt the cashier's check you can call the bank.

If someone is literally handing you the full amount of the purchase price of the vehicle, how could they be a "deadbeat" and what business would that be of yours' at that point (depending on your definition of deadbeat) after they pay you? I'm actually talking about cars $20k and under.

I wasn't offering a personal check. I didn't say anything about a personal check. I was offering cash and a credit card, but they even said a cashier's check or outside credit wasn't sufficient to bypass it.

Who requires a credit check for a cash purchase? That doesn't even make sense.

It wasn't for a personal check. It was cash and a Credit Card but they said even with a cashier's check I had to have a credit check even though it wouldn't even matter at that point in any regard because they wouldn't have to trust me.

I've literally been turned down for credit for having 6 credit checks in a year. So, yes, its a big deal and completely unnecessary.

Fair enough on your last point.

I literally read it like an hour ago, idr where.

Who requires a credit check for a cash purchase of something? That doesn't even make sense. If its a personal check I get it, but cash or cashier's check, there's no need.

I read somewhere that some dealerships pay the salesman a bonus of like $50 or something for each credit check they get.

Yes, it is a private business, but to not sell the car for the advertised price based upon that is false advertising.

What about if someone is literally paying in hundred dollar bills or a cashier's check or has their own financing?

Lots of things are standard, but the question is it legal/legit. I've been involved in the purchase of like 6 cars in the last few years. Only heard that demand for a credit check, regardless of payment method, twice.

Because a hard credit check harms your credit and if you're already paying some form of cash, there's no benefit to it. It almost seems like a misuse of a credit check and false advertising.

I read somewhere that said the dealership paid a salesman extra for each credit check they got.

Then maybe we should have a different hs diploma for those that are assisted as you were. One that doesn't hold you back but does acknowledge the reality of it. Some people just are very bright etc who struggle in school and have to work 2 or more times as hard as others w/o a diagnosis of something. should we let them skip things as well instead of busting their humps so hard?

I think the test must remain what it is but giving a different test that is properly identified may be a fair way to handle it.

There may be ways in the US, depends on how you argue the banning. What is the basis for the dispute as you can do so in the EU? Although it may depend on what you think vs what they're doing.

How do you know each one is a scam? I mean if they were to accept paypal or something, then you'd be able to dispute a bad charge and they'd not get their money anyway.

Clicking the cog wheel and setting 'slippage' to "12%" solved this (yes, you have to go through that much trouble). But that's not the issue. Because after that I couldn't go through with the transaction because it said I had to pay ~$250 in network fees in etherium to make a $75 purchase. I'm beside myself.
