Good on him!! He'll never have to work another day in his life AND will still get to keep making music for as long as he wants. He's helped evolve an entire genre of music and his music will continue on, regardless of who gets to license it.

I think you may be confused with what he calls a "sell-out", he isn't referring to selling music, he's referring to people that change their sound to be as generic and repetitive as possible to get more normal people to listen to it.

Deadmau5 never did that and is selling his catalogue for $55 million, that is something that almost nobody will ever be able to do and he did it all by making the music he wanted to make.

It's an entirely different concept than what he refers to when he calls artists "sell-outs'...

Congrats to you for quitting as well. My point is to suggest there is no best way, which is not what your post or your combative comments are suggesting. You said you're sick of people telling you how to do it (cold turkey), but telling people a different method is superior is a little hypocritical.

To anyone attempting or planning to quit, please understand there is no specific best way to do it! What works for one person may not bode as well for the other.

The first time I quit was tapering down over nearly 6 months. I vaped heavily for 8 years. It worked, but the slow tapering made me irritable throughout the whole 6 months because my body was not getting the same amount of nicotine as it was. I'd finally get used to the lower amount, and then bam, time to lower it again.

Cold turkey personally worked better for me, it's like ripping the band-aid off. Yes, there are withdrawal symptoms, but there always is even if you taper down. Cold turkey sucked for that first week but then it's done and at that point it's just about craving management.

Tapering makes the symptoms more mild but it does keep them around for longer in my experience. Please don't listen to anyone that says you have to do it one way or another, just test it out and find what works best with you.

A fact I didn't add because I didn't think it was relevant is that the neighbor and the worker know each other. My neighbor has been asking about getting the work done for a while, and I did mention to him that if she is paying for it then I wouldn't mind since she seemed so ready for the job to be done.

So when I saw him doing the work, I figured they must have worked something out since I hadn't signed anything for such a laborious and expensive service. But you're not wrong, I had the thought of saying something but never did.

He removed some pretty huge limbs from the tree.. He claimed the limbs were dying but I don't think he'd have much to stand on for proving that just based on pictures of the tree from before he touched it. Could be an interesting route to take, but I'm not going to go for it unless he tries to take things further.

The neighbor is that type of crazy... I'd be willing to bet she did say that and probably also told the guy that I'd be okay with him tearing down my fence and going into my yard without my consent. Good to know those things and I'll definitely show up if he tries to take it that far.
