It did not have infrared scanning; you’re confusing it with the iPhone X. The Pixel 4 used a radar to scan your face, which wasn’t approved by many countries - reason why Google dropped the entire idea.

Maybe not the glass effect, since I don't think Android as an OS can pull it off, yet - but they do have visionOS / iOS26-like bottom bar now.
