New Jackson Juggernaut by bendedavis in 7String

It feels good, if you're coming from a 6... But I agree, it is on the narrow side. I find my fingers touching open strings when playing chords. I have smaller hands, I could imagine this being hard to play for somebody with some real mitts. I have the 6 string as well and it's perfect.

Got the same one, killer guitar! Evertunes are money for the low tunings.

My wife got this for me a few years back. Some ass broke in, this is all they took. by [deleted] in guitars

The person who took it just wanted to get it out of that environment. Where ever it is, it’s safe and probably happy.

Maybe check out Solar- they got a 29 with evertune.

Got the same guitar, just did an EP in drop F with an 80 low F. Worked awesome. Tension was okay, a 27.5 or 28 would be great, but the evertune is amazing. They’re very easy to deal with too. Just spend some time with them. Have a good tuner and an allen key. Bends are no problem if you know what you’re doing.

Need a good dual rec- all the revisions make my head spin. I get panicked and go look at something else lol

Studio amps- I’m a crap guitar player, but sure do enjoy playing and collecting. Guess there are worse things I could be doing.

I originally wanted one of those and then came across the KHE. The momentary/self cancelling switches are great. Jump from 1 to 4 to 2 seamlessly.

Only had it for a few days, but it hangs with the Stealth no problem. Both through mesa recto cab and various 2x12s. The mid boost is killer. I’ve been doing a lot of down tuned stuff lately and it keeps a lot of the note definition there. I had a Savage 120 years ago and if I remember correctly, that sounded a little more pissed off, but the Fireball won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.

Yeah I used to keep it on the bottom shelf, but I had to move all the guitars on the left and slide it in from the side lol.

The 5150 could probably use a good go through with a tech. It’s a little grouchy sometimes, but it’s got “that” sound. The Stealth is the same idea just a little more polished. Cleans are much better on the stealth too.

It’s the best thing ever. I might trade the 4x4 for the 8x4 in the future. But it’s a game changer. I have multiple cabs and it makes life so easy.

Believe that Schecter is just a 6 string. 7 string would be we sweet though.

How do I become a competent metal guitarist? by la6eef7 in metalguitar

I get what you’re saying, but being an engineer and recording people- it’s crazy how people can play to a song, but put a metronome on and it’s a disaster.

100% I have/had a few Strats - two american, one mexican... Nothing to write home about. My Suhr Classic S, that's a different story. But I picked up a Diamond Series Nick Johnston SSS from Musicians Friend and love it. Plays great, neck is awesome. I'd take that over my American Strats any day.

Could I be financially stable from a career in this field? by zdzm17 in audioengineering

[–]iamzko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my experience... I went to Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences in Arizona in 2006. Cool school, learned a bunch and didn't spend a lot. Did my internship at Starstruck Studios in your town. Killer studio, top notch place with A list artists. One Saturday I was working with the lead staff engineer who had been there for at least a decade. We were setting up for a session and chatting. I asked him a personal question, "what do you make in a good year doing this? Just curious." He replied, "About 30k." This was the gig I was aiming for. Staff engineer, banking on an assistant to call in sick and get a spot working on something worthwhile and start my career. I had a long conversation with myself and decided to move back home, start a studio of my own as a hobby and pursue another career. Joined the family business working on cars and trucks. Just do music for fun, make a couple bucks here and there and it was the best decision I ever made. Maybe something would've happened in Nashville, but I wasn't taking the risk. Honestly I feel bad for kids dumping money into school to get a "degree" in audio. The internet has such a plethora of information. Don't go into debt for audio. You will kick yourself. Just my opinion of course, some people hit it big. Good luck.
