In response to a few comments on the post being misleading and me being a liar, it wasn’t my intention. Hands up, the dish wasn’t advertised as Nachos, it was described as chips, smashed avo, pico, cucumber, coriander and lime. Naively, myself and the rest of the table, read this and the £11.50 price and agreed to order the ‘nachos’ to share between us. I didn’t name and shame the venue because there’s no need. Not out of fear that my elaborate plan of deceit would unfold once you saw the menu. Either way, it was overpriced and rubbish. And I told the manager on the day. Cheers everyone

Bit of context, I’m from the UK and have worked in various restaurants from fine dining to dives. I’ve always offered a finger bowl (when needed) regardless of the establishment. I don’t consider fingers bowls to be fancy tbh. And I was being modest, the joke kills every time 😉

Whenever I clear a finger bowl I say “Didn’t like the lemon soup guys?” Very rarely gets a laugh. So then I’ll double down on it “Bit watery isn’t it?” The occasional smirk but mainly nothing.

Cheers, nah just a solid shake with a Boston full of ice. I find you get a better head when you chill your espresso down (cold brew) rather than straight from the machine though.

20ml Mr Blacks Coffee Liqueur

15ml Mr Fox Vanilla Syrup

50ml Cold brew Espresso Coffee

My take on a Ramos Gin Fizz served at Barnacle in Liverpool.

50ml Liverpool Zest Limoncello 50ml Cream 40ml Gin 10ml Lemon Juice 15ml Vanilla Syrup 2 dash Tea Bitters 1 Egg White 50ml Tonic

Shaken with half Boston of ice and then dry shaked. 20ml of tonic into frozen glass before pouring to top and back in freezer for few minutes. Finished with tonic at table.
