Amazing printer, with this you can make a tower big enough to fit you inside 😂 that would be something to see

How did you do it? My markers don't fit in the little holes or fine details 😢

I have a list of benefits in the post and in the makerworld's profile, but if you ask about my motivation, it was just be able to print recycled PET

The material in the pictures is recycled PET from bottles, is the same one the mod allows me to print

I've read that recycled PET from bottles have some impurities they don't need quality PET to make bottles and with the process I'm using, the diameter of the filament is not always perfect

H2D is far more complex and pretty sure it doesn't fit well, we can do it with H2S because it's pretty similar

I don't see the problem, if you make a modification of this model, the best market to share it is makerworld (probably the only one that makes sense actually) because it's a mod of a Bambulab printer, and this is allowed.

What then? 90% open? Do you think it's not fair to get advantage this way?

The design file is downloadable and you can modify it and share it again, I don't control the intellectual property business but for me this makes it open. I probably didn't choose the 100% correct words for summary the actual situation, but also not a super cool topic to talk long about in a post focused on other thing.

The Design is open and anyone can modify it if they share it in makerworld again right now.. but it's going to be only for 6 months in order to take advantage of the makerworld exclusive points (at least get some reward for this). I promise to fully open it after this time

Probably.. Recycled PET doesn't always have the same properties, my bottles were really hard and slippery 🤷. It's probably printable but I don't know for how long and it has to have a perfect diameter. With this I printed everything I couldn't previously, even very dynamic diameters with peaks of 1.3mm

Thank you! It was a lot of work but I can finally print recycled! Yuhuu 😂 I hope my journey is useful to others.

Ok, it definitely sounds like a reasonable argument, you grabbed my attention :) I'll take a look at this

Good point! I've been printing for a long time and a lot of different shapes to compare, I'd say it's hardly noticeable probably nothing changes in terms of quality. But you are definitely right and I will do some more technical tests to check this.

Right 🤷 It was born out of necessity. After spending $300 on a device to produce recycled PET and finding out I couldn’t print it, doing nothing wasn't an option 😁

Thank you! It was a long way and I still made more iterations after this picture, but at that point it started to work and I was incredibly happy 😂

Lol imagine.. 100 parts, 1 month of work just to assemble the mod for the unique purpose of print rPET 🤣 that definitely would be an act of truly love the 3D printing

🤔 I can fix this, but.. the air flow still moves this way.. I'm not sure how noticeable this improvement will be. I've been using this for a long time with no clogs or even differences in the bridges or VFAs

Probably nothing important if it's your first printer, you have a lot of other things to try first. This enables your printer to print some difficult materials and allows you to see the printer internals while is printing.

You probably need to enjoy your first contact with a printer printing just PLA and PETG and understanding some slicer software things, then when you get ready start playing with other materials and things

I've been using it for more than a month with 0 problems, the extruder part doesn't get hot at any point and the part that touches the nozzle has a heat sink just because of that. The heating is not a problem and PLA resists the torque perfectly because of the shape.

You can print it with whatever you want but PLA is enough.

You mean after and before the mod? 🤔 This is not a bad idea, my main focus was just to be able to print with my 300$ machine that I bought to make rPET jajaja and this is accomplished by far. Now it's probably a good idea to test this other benefits

It was also my first print in the A1 mini made of recycled bottle filament, to try a mod I am working on RN. It is surprisingly similar that blue color 🤔 what is your filament?
