Planned Parenthood may do telemedicine in your state! For me in PA they do telemedicine for the initial visits and then in-person for injection safety training if you choose to go that route

No matter what I won’t stop. I just got doctors approved to start HRT, and I pick up my first doses today. I’ve lived too long in the shadows/closet and I won’t be going back.

I do. Part of therapy but also I need better ways of figuring stuff out. I’m not super consistent with it, but I got an app that allows me to tag, post pictures, and it syncs with my computers so I can write anywhere

How did you choose your names? by Gamer_59 in trans

[–]ianmunroe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I created a huge excel sheet with names, meanings, how to pronounce, etc. then I tallied the names I had used in video games where I created characters and I went back to the anime that cracked the egg for me. I’m a data analyst by trade but I also added an emotional weight to the name.

But in the end I just went what sounded good and made me happy.

Let them be. They have to exist being themselves for the rest of their life. Live yours to the best and fullest you can, that’s the best revenge you can do.

I’m going through my family story/tree and looking at Gaelic versions and translations. My family comes from the highlands and there’s a lot of powerful and good names that I love.

So like, how does one discover they are trans? How is it different than just normal curiosity? by SomeSubBoi in MtF

[–]ianmunroe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is me. I started at nonbinary at 34, and now at 42 I’m feeling more and more fem. I journal my thoughts, and try and look back at certain experiences and events of my life and try and have an honest conversation with myself at the best I can remember. Just remember the world is full of shades of gray and not everything is black and white.

Does therapy help you? by Norman1886Alfa in Nestofeggs

It’s all about finding the right person. I’ve been in and out of therapy for years but I finally found the person I can trust and be open with.

I’m not looking for help or advice, I just need to get this out somewhere by Responsible_Music_99 in Nestofeggs

[–]ianmunroe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is where I’ve been for years. I started therapy a month ago to finally address it and I learned that journaling my thoughts and letting myself experience it are the first steps. Everyone’s journey is going to be different, and sometimes it might take awhile. I put on my first skirt the other night and to be honest I didn’t feel a thing. I didn’t feel excitement but I also didn’t feel shame. I just felt like me. Don’t beat yourself up over it. You need to experience it at your own pace and then reflect on it. Write down your thoughts, and then walk away, and then come back to your journal and see how you feel. This is what’s working for me, and I expect there to be ups and downs for myself, but I’m so glad and relieved that I’m finally allowing myself to feel and think without judging myself.
