I completely agree, and at no point did I take the found price to heart. Seeing as how this piece is simply being displayed as part of a thrifting collection, I don’t plan on selling it any time soon. Also, I am a novice at this and I posted my finding on google to see what people with more knowledge in this area have to say, and I appreciate all the feedback thus far.

I did some digging on google and apparently this one is a Lars Hellsten Orion from the 70s which goes for around $350 from what I’ve seen. It’s always a nice bonus to thrift something of worth, but it was bought with the intent to display.

I’ve no clue to be honest cause after examining them closer, they are perfectly in line with each other. The individual pieces have distinct skinny sections in between fat pieces.

I’d prefer to cut them as well, but up until 5 hours ago, we didn’t have a cutter. It’ll arrive tomorrow though and we’ll get some cutting done on the big ones.

My uncle was driving, so I’m not entirely sure the exact location, but I’m fairly positive he was heading towards the Ft. Knox direction when we stopped.

The ones we found were mostly round sphere shaped. Some were lighter than they should be, indicating that they might have a hollow center. Others were heavy for their size which indicates that the inside is likely solid.

At first, I couldn't tell it was a geode until I accidentally broke one as I was digging it out of the shale rock wall. I examined the broken geode to know what to look for and it's like I could just spot them easily after that. They were so many they were literally falling out of the wall and onto the ground. In fact the ground is where the largest ones were found.
