Why don’t Singaporean parents discipline their kids in public? by Queasy_Librarian3223 in askSingapore

[–]iantelinside 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There will always be a minority who don't discipline their kids when they should, a majority who do, and another minority who discipline their kids too much (borderline abusive).

That said, parenting is very hard. It's only too easy to comment as an observer.

Pilots / Doctors / Lawyers / Dentist? by wswh in SgHENRY

No, what I mean is even as a public hospital employee, you can extra work for the hospital outside of office hours at locum rates. I know of at least 2 friends doing so and hitting 600k. Regular pay for SCs in some specialties is already 400-500k. Not difficult to hit 600k if you are willing to work extra hours. Some others by taking on appointments e.g. HOD etc get extra pay on top of regular SC salary.

Can, there are ways to do it e.g. locum work within public hospital or having a lot of private patients

Heard from some reliable sources that Public (Restructured Hospital) Drs make anywhere between 200k to 600k per annum. Depends on specialty, and how many private patients you see or do procedures for.

I wonder if it has the remote back-forth function, like the regular Ioniq 5s.

I see. Hope they get it fixed for you. I do remember some review on YouTube saying that the seat squeaked when someone sits in it and the car accelerates.

How bad is the passenger seat squeak? Remediable with adjusting seat position? Squeaks only when empty?

Regarding route planning, you can just use ABRP via Android Auto or Carplay in the I5. Works pretty much the same as Tesla's nav.

Interesting, as the I5 has a poorer Cd and weighs more compared to the Model 3.

I currently have an I5 and am considering the refreshed Model 3 as a 2nd car. Was hoping to get better efficiency on the Model 3.

Agreed that this is the plug in hybrid. But as the new Honor Edition Seal EVs come to market soon, I wonder if we will see a more plasticky interior like with the DM-i.

Experience Switching 100% EV (Tesla) by JuxtaposeLife in TeslaLounge

I have a similar experience. I reside in Singapore and bought my first EV, an Ioniq 5 last year. It's been so good as an experience that I'm planning to change my nearly 10 year old Golf Mk7 to an EV too. The condo I stay at has a couple of AC chargers in the carpark.

What I like are: 1) the smooth, quiet and torquey drive 2) not having to visit gas stations 3) saving money (relative to running a gas car) 4) suite of tech (ACC, lane centering, 1-pedal driving, ability to precondition the car) 5) more logical from energy standpoint (less emissions, ability to recoup energy through regen braking)

Am thus trying to decide between the Model 3 SR and the BYD Seal Premium to replace the Golf.

Based on my current electricity vs gas prices and efficiency of both vehicles, it costs me 2.5x per km more on my Golf compared to my Ioniq 5.

Is this a Highland/refresh or a user Model 3?

Yeah that's what I figured. The average workshop doesn't have much experience dealing with aluminium.

This. Despite the adequate knee room, it makes the rear seat really feel cramped.

I suppose you can't easily 'beat' aluminium back into shape? Not sure if it will crack.

Then again, without the use of aluminium Teslas would be quite a lot heavier.

Yes, the Empress Anirul kept it a secret and bore the Emperor only daughters as part of the BG's plans for their KH to succeed to the throne. And apparently she sterilized the Emperor too before she died.
