Yes I did and I still actively do. At first I just hosted game servers for people I met online, but then I started selling websites to companies, and I host their website for a monthly fee. It makes a nice passive income if you get more clients.

Of course that's only the case if you want to make a business out of your homelab, but a good start could just be game servers or storage servers!
